What a gem of a place. Really beautiful. Sadly I only got to stay one night on my way through but was made to feel really welcome and shown around when I arrived with freedom to pitch where I liked.
Stunning location with Admiral Rodney's Pillar in view and lovely meadow type camping fields.
Very nice communal kitchen to use and a play area for kids.
Perfect.
Thank you for my short stay. Hopefully I'll be back soon!

Wonderful site and Wonderful owners. We stayed for 2 nights in an idyllic place, the only thing that let the whole trip down was an inconsiderate group of campers who thought it was OK to allow their children to run about at 11 at night screaming. The facilities are above and beyond what you would expect from a campsite. The kitchen is better than I have at home, warm showers and clean toilets. This place is a hidden gem, with little treasures hiding around every corner. An evening walk through the nature corridor is a must. Absolutely beautiful. It may be worth checking before you book if there are any big groups booked for that time if you want peace and quiet though.

We come here every year and without a doubt have such a lovely camping experience. The facilities on site are always well kept and clean; they have 3 working showers, 4 toilets and a kitchen with electricity which also includes a fridge and a freezer. Without a doubt we are always made to feel so welcome by Seb and Debbie, they are always contactable during the stay to answer any queries. There is a small stream on the campsite which is perfect to dip your feet in or have a swim on the hotter days. We will always continue to use sychpwll, it really does feel like a second home to us now.

I have visited here every year for the last 3 years for a camping weekend away with my now 5 year old son. The site is excellent the toilets and showers are always clean, the main meadow field is huge so there is plenty of space between tents and for the kids to play. If you have kids you can chill by your tent in the evening and still see the kids on the park. There is plenty of wood to buy and sticks to find in the woodland path and there is a great kitchen with washing up facilities, stove and freezer. The only down side is you sometimes lose water pressure in the showers but you are camping in the countryside so still a 5 star campsite for me.
I would recommend for large groups with kids as well as single parents with kids. We will be back next year!

This is our second stay at this campsite and we will definitely come again. Its 100% old world camping, pitch where you want, campfires, an amazing communal kitchen which is equipped with everything you could possibly need. So never fear if you've forgotten a tin opener. its got the best festival/hippy vibe you could imagine i genuinely did not want to leave.

A lovely cozy log cabin set in the Welsh countryside. The site was clean and tidy and this was reflected inside the cabin too. The shower had great water pressure and the little personal touches around the cabin made it feel like a home from home. Our hosts were really helpful and informative and most importantly welcoming too.
Our children and dog loved exploring the site and I'm sure in the summer months it's a wonderful place to camp too with the facilities available to campers. The play park for the children is great. So much to do with beautiful places to walk and Rodney's pillar to hike. The natural surroundings are stunning with lots walks to be had. This site would make a trip, short or long, interesting and enjoyable. There is also access to the river for swimming in the warmer months... Would recommend and we will be booking again in the future.

We had our wedding here this summer and all of the owners were incredibly supportive, warm and welcoming. They worked closely with us throughout the experience and made everything so easy and we had the best day ever. The cabin and the hobbit house are amazing, clean and cosy air bnbs and the bell tent is tucked away in a beautiful, intimate and relaxing corner which is such a treat! All of the facilities on site are great and accessible and everything feels very clean and comfortable. We’ve loved camping here every time we’ve been and we’ll be back again ☺

We did the Rodney’s Pillar walk which was fab, and it’s so easy to get to Welshpool and Shrewsbury, although you really feel in the middle of nowhere when you’re here. It feels like a really special space where the owners have thought of everything!

Nice campsite. Lots of fields with secluded spots and camping next to the river (swimmable but fast current). Kayak rentle available. Good toilets, showers and communal kitchen area. Fires are allowed and wood available to buy on site at decent price. Dog friendly. Would definitely use again 👍

Really lovely site, the owner showed me around. Such a fab set up for what I paid! Access to a lovely kitchen and very clean toilets/showers. Plus the views are amazing!
Have already recommended to friends and will be back again (with a better camping bed so I don't have to leave so early in the morning😂)

My friend and I hired the entire site, including buildings, for our 40th birthdays. Seb, Debbie, Peter and Peter's friend (whose name I forget) were extremely welcoming. We had a folk horror theme with heavy rock bands playing, and they were so unbelievably supportive of our ideas. The accommodation buildings are beautiful and clean, and the camping fields are absolutely stunning. I think there'll be lots of new customers after this weekend, everyone fell in love with Sychpwll. Thank you. x

Beautiful eco-campsite in a stunning location. Very child friendly. We camped but private lodges also available. Seb and Debbie are fab hosts and the site has all the key facilities you'd need with the only exception being no electric hook ups. Loved it!

One of the most peaceful and tranquil sites I've ever stayed on. Seb made us feel very welcome, and even made friends with my dog! He met us at the gate and showed us around the site. We were allowed to choose wherever we wanted to pitch, and the site was very spacious. Nice facilities, use of the kitchen was very good, especially if the weather was wet. Lovely walks nearby, will surely be returning soon!

Our stay in the Hobbit house was excellent, it was very clean and well kept. It had all the amenities you could want and it was lovely to stay in there while our friends were in a tent getting rained on 😂

Our friends had their 40th birthday party there and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Camped by the river, enjoyed the rustic buildings, and the owners were lovely :)

We camped 3 nights at this place and had really great time. The site has lots of space with different areas to pitch (in big groups or little areas for smaller parties. The owners are very hospitable and the whole site a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The facilities are simple, but clean and everything you need. It's also a good base to go on day trips to some fantastic places (we did fossil hunting in llanymynech and then kayaking on Lake Vrynwy).

A delightful place to just get away from it all and enjoy the natural surroundings in a beautiful setting.
We boooked as part of an event for a group, with the barn acting as our meeting place and the camp kitchen as a hub for everyone to get together to cook meals.
The buildings sit wonderfully in their setting, providing the ideal mix of camping, with extra facilities for those who wanted them.
With the two meadows, the wildlife corridor and the river there is plenty of space and variety in the setting with an abundance of trees, flowers and birds.
The site owners were so helpful, and always around if we needed anything.
An absolute gem of a place which we will definitley visit again.

Stunning location that is well equipped with a warm welcome. An amazingly lucky find when we were on a camper van trip and thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility and serenity.

Absolutely beautiful setting for a true escape, the communal kitchen means you have access to phone charging and cold storage whilst still switching off and enjoying nature at its best. The way in which Seb and his family adapt to each guest is so endearing to see with you truly feeling welcome and with the river, nature tunnel and play park we set up camp and happily stayed on site for 3 days. Definately going back xx
