Following a visit to Field & Falcon yesterday, I want to share a brief explanation of how and why Terry is so helpful.

As all shooters will know, and regardless of any particular point of view, the changing regulations towards lead free ammunition is challenging for many reasons. I have an old Italian 12 bore and wanted to find out whether I could shoot steel through it. The markings on the barrel were unfamiliar and hard to make out so I thought I would go and ask in the shop. Terry had a look at it and we agreed that the markings were not immediately translatable into the generic proofing categories. He then got a box of steel shot cartridges and asked me to read the references to barrel pressures and proofing requirements and we discussed what might be safe and also what chokes would be best to use with steel. More importantly, through discussion over a coffee (thank you Woody), Terry made me think about my gun and encouraged me, albeit it subtlety, to go and do my own research and find out about the markings on my barrel.

Following some digging around on the Beretta website I found the markings which confirmed the proofing pressure and also the type of steel that would be safe in my shotgun. This also gave me a steer on what brand of cartridge would be best suited for my quarry. Although the knowledge I acquired through my own research was exactly the same as the cautious advice Terry gave me in the shop earlier that day, I now feel 100% confident that I will be shooting safely and also very satisfied that by taking a little time, and with some good advice, I have improved my specific knowledge and gained some valuable experience.

I will of course also be going back to Field & Flacon to buy a few boxes of steel cartridges!

I have used field and falcon on many occasions over the last few years after being recommended by a friend. They have always been helpful and welcoming even to my children who are keen shooters. They have took the time to explain and share their knowledge and experience in shotguns and air rifles. We have also used the air rifle shooting range multiple time, purchased guns and other accessories from here, our go to place ever since. Highly recommended to anyone with shooting interests.

Encouraged by the positive online reviews, I chose to visit Field & Falcon ahead of other gun shops closer to home. I was not disappointed.

As a newcomer to the world of air rifles I wasn't sure what to expect on my first visit to Field & Falcon, but was soon put at ease by Terry and Woody. It's worth saying at this point that it's been an absolute pleasure getting to know them both.

The knowledge that these guys have is impressive and the amount of time Terry spent with me to ensure he understood my individual needs was fantastic. I did not expect to spend so much quality time with him, but I'm very grateful I did. I really enjoyed the sessions at the shooting range with him.

Despite investing all this time with me, there was never any hard sell. Terry is a teacher, and is driven by the desire to make sure the decision you make is the right one for you. At times, he will tell you what you need,... trust him, he'll be right!

I'm pleased to say that I did buy my first air rifle and accessories from Field & Falcon. The whole buying experience was brilliant and the price I paid was more than competitive despite the training sessions I effectively received.

I know I made the right decision choosing Field & Falcon and recommend you visit them before you buy elsewhere.

Called at field and falcon to use the range very well set out Terry came from the shop to see if everything was OK wow what a bloke he has forgotten more about shooting and guns that most people learn in a lifetime. You don't come across someone with this knowledge that can also teach it in a way that a novice like me can understand thank you so much Terry your one in a million . If you go to the shop make sure you speak to Terry

Went there simply hoping to zero my air rifle in on the range, ended up coming away with far more knowledge and confidence in shooting than I could have expected. Terry is a brilliant teacher, prefers to show you as well as tell you to better aid your understanding. I'm amazed how much I learnt in the brief period I was there. Also showed me how a bit better of a scope would help with aim, though not with the propose of selling, just to educate me.
Can't fault the guys and their knowledge. I'll certainly be paying another visit

So chuffed I found this place. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable; this is the sort of place you really want to go and spend your hard-earned money. Really enjoyed my visit and looking forward to getting a call to say my gun is ready in the coming weeks.

Visited the shop yesterday to buy a new PCP air rifle, Terry was amazing with his help and advice.
He had so much knowledge about guns and had all the time in the world for you.
Highly recommended a visit for anyone interested in guns and Country sports.

I called at field and falcon today was met by Terry. What a helpful and knowable bloke he is, could not do enough for me .I came away not only with exactly what I wanted but not wasting money on stuff I didn't need . Ive purchased 4 air rifles from field and falcon along with many other items over the last few years. They have everything you could want and need in but if they haven't got it in they can generally get it in for you . The service is professional , friendly and very helpful nothing is to much trouble . Not long ago i wandered in and bought a scope i came away with it fitted and zeroed in thanks to Terry and the indoor and outdoor ranges it was ready to go when I was. Perfect ! I wont go anywhere els . Iv tried the rest but none of the other shops I've tried come close . A big thank you to Terry and sarah .

This has been, and always will be my ‘go-to’ store for anything to do with guns. Staff are always very friendly, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. Their shooting range is also excellent. 5 stars and some!!

Absolutely wonderfull shop, staff are very knowledgeable, and helpfull. Great facilities. With indoor and outdoor range. A huge stock of new and used rifles. They are my go to gun shop. Woody and Terry did a great job in sorting my gun out. With no fuss. And are always eager to help. Keep up the good work fellas.

Spent 3 hours this morning taking me through my new gun and helped me set it up also taking me through the new scope so I knew how to use it plus taking me down the range giving me some tips

I've shopped at F&F for the last three years following an introduction to the local shooting community. This shop has been responsible for my understanding of all shooting equipment and etiquette, together with my initial instructed shotgun lessons - this is where it all started for me, culminating in successful selection for the GB team at a European Championships event I took part in last month!

Terry really knows his stuff on shotguns whether it's game, sporting clays or trap - I expect he knows a lot more than he lets on!

Dave is an excellent instructor, having helped me understand how to better read and anticipate a target and what to do / not to do in the field, greatly helped from his life-long experience as a gamekeeper!

Woody has brought a new found enthusiasm to the business, ensuring that nothing is too difficult to get hold of, if there's a customer need!

Being a newbie to shooting I find the staff at field and Falcon excellent. I have had quite a few problems over the weeks with my rifle (PCP) and have asked Terry his advice and all have been sorted straight away. Terry's knowledge of weapons is second to none .What Terry doesn't know about weapons is not worth knowing.Thank you Field and Falcon and in particular Terry for your great service and making us feel part of the Field and Falcon family.
