The Bay Tree Café

Lovely place just on the outside edge of Wantage town centre. Lovely friendly feel to the place. The staff are welcoming and efficient. I can vouch that the English breakfast is outstanding, as is their Rocky-road slices. I will definitely be returning for food again.

I can't believe I haven't written a review before now. We love the Bay Tree Cafe, everything about it is comfortable and welcoming, we can even take our dog with us and they gave him a free bowl of doggy treats. The food is always great, the service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is always friendly. Have been many times, and will definitely be going many more times.

Back again this weekend. Fabulous service as always and we decided on a cooked breakfast this time round.
It was gorgeous, we took home several pieces of cakes too.
Everything is very reasonably priced.

The halloumi avocado brunch is to die for. Perfect poached eggs too.
Excellent coffee and chat with the owner. Will be back again as it's so good..

On the advice of a local we tried here today.
Welcome was friendly and genuine. We managed to find a table as it's was lunch time and busy.
Loads to choose from but in the end we had coffee and a wrap, all was delicious and we will be back.
The only bit of advice I would give is don't go in starving as I did ans there is too many tempting options.

Incredible as always. Great service and wonderful food. Been going for years and has always been great. Went today for an afternoon tea with my mum and Nan and it was fab! Great cakes and lemon drizzle scones to die for!

Had a wonderful lunch with my family today! I was happy to see high chairs and books for kids even though we didn't end up using them. The food was spot on, delish!

Came across this place in Wantage and so glad we did. Upon walking in very clean and inviting decor, staff friendly and range of food on the menu was good. When food came it was presented well, very fresh and good quality. Will be going back again

Still 5 stars for the Bay Tree! Super service and lovely food. Can recommend the Lemon cream tea and also the decaf cuppa tea too 👍 Lovely relaxing tea room.

I live minutes from here and I'm upgrading my review of 4* two years ago to 5* now. Service is great, friendly and the food faultless. Super local tea room! 😊

Lovely food and great atmosphere.
This is more tea room than greasy spoon, but an excellent alternative to Costa.

Have visited the cafe a few times now. Service is excellent and friendly. Food is quality. And the dog gets a sausage. And for those who who say would have got better at Costa. They eat out of packets, like cardboard cups and never eat at the table.we will return.

This is our go to place in Wantage. Everything is freshly cooked and you can tell it’s of good quality. I especially love the bacon. Delicious...
We left just enough room for a slice of the extra deep sponge cake and my friend enjoyed a beautiful lemon scone.
A delightful coffee, it’s lovely and smooth and not bitter like some places.
This is all topped off with fantastic service and we particularly liked the Christmas decorations and lights.
We look forward to our next visit.

This was the 2nd time coming here. 1st time was a few years ago and I remember it. That says a lot about this place. Welcoming and polite service with an amazing full English Breakfast. Can't wait to come again! 🙂

We are regular visitors to the Cafe lovely staff helpful and friendly Mother likes small portions so they always do this. Safe atmosphere clean and social distance maintained . Take away coffee & Walnut cake fabulously delicious 😋

This sums up how I feel about the Bay Tree Cafe: as soon as I'd finished my lunch, I wanted to order and eat the whole lot again! It's a delightful place with friendly staff and delicious fresh food. My husband had a ham and cheese omelette and a bacon sandwich, and I had Eggs Benedict with spinach and mushroom. We both had fabulous huge pots of tea, and finished off with toasted teacakes. I can't wait to go back because the afternoon tea looks incredible. Highly recommended!

Dog friendly Cafe, brought my dog out a bowl of water out and a sausage for treats! Really nice atmosphere and decor. Good pricing in there too! Had a good morning working 😊
