Sit in a nice quiet pub in a local area next to the park. The staff are the nicest people in Ipswich and the food was incredible, everything was fresh and full of flavour with so much attention to detail. The cider sausage casserole was the star of the table but I've been told by my dad that the burger was "the best he's had in a long time".

I write this while the staff are kindly and considerately taking care of dietary requirements of their patrons for tonight's quiz.

I'll be making this my future haunt along with Chirin, my pup, who appreciated a pork scratching from the bar.

Amazing atmosphere!
We went there to try a Italian pizza, and i MUST say that its definitely the best Italian Pizza in Ipswich!
And i know what i saying as I am a pizza lover who knows and tried pizza in many places!
This Pub is coming on my list now!
Atmosphere inside is amazing such a nice cozy pub with dogs welcome!

Lovely old pub in the town centre. Good outdoor seating areas. We sat in the new back garden area (sheltered from the hot midday sun) which was very welcoming. Food was great and staff friendly and helpful

Went here on a recommendation. I thought it was more of a town pub, couldn't be more wrong. Wonderful building, old floors and bottles, feels very much like a countryside pub. Staff are friendly and polite.
The food is wonderful, I had a Philly Beef Cheese steak sandwich, plenty of cheese, beef cooked perfectly and a good quality roll.
Cheesy chips are perfect, like chip shop chips!
My fiance had belly pork, of course I tried some. Cooked perfectly, the glazed carrots were my personal favourite. Plenty of food, was very happy in the end.
Will be back.

Popped in with my mum on our way into town, and we were so glad we did! Lots of options on the menu for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. We both chose the Mac 'n Cheese with salad and garlic ciabatta for our lunch, and it was delicious. We both said it was the best Macaroni Cheese we'd ever had! The salad and garlic bread were lovely too, and it was all presented beautifully. The perfect cosy pub to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere - it actually feels like a country pub! Friendly staff too. We will definitely be back.

The belly pork was a real tasty main course from the specials board.

Great food and location. Staff are always supper friendly. I would recommend the home made scotch eggs. After excellent food you can take a walk round the near by Christchurch Park.

Never disappointed when visiting The Woolpack! There's always a great atmosphere at this pub, and the service is always friendly. Outdoor seating is available at the front and back of the pub if the weather permits! As well as good beer, there's also food available which I'd highly recommend.

Deceiving from the Outside ! But, Inside you have this wonderful Olde World Charm with rustic tables and chairs, photos of time gone by adorn the walls and a beautiful fireplace, perfect for those winter Meals... We were blown away by the culinary skills with our superb roast dinners... Well worth a visit.... we shall certainly be making the trip again

One of 4 pubs in Ipswich that I feel are best described as being "middle class locals" (along with the Greyhound, Fat Cat and The Dove).

A constantly good, but modest selection of beers, good staff, food, atmosphere and punters. Cosy and in a great location next to the park and just outside the town centre.

They aren't going to show the football (The Dove might) or have guest DJ's, but for anything else, from a place to take the kids for a lemonade after playing in the park, somewhere to grab a quick bite, or a meeting place for a quick pint before heading to the match, you're not going to feel short changed.

Well done woolpack, a little confusing on entering via the Car park. After a friendly happy welcoming member of staff directed us to the bar, We ordered a first class breakfasts. Which arrived hot plentiful and very wholesome, do not forget to order ciabatta toast and jam.

It was a cold, rainy February night when we arrived with our lively puppy but we found a cosy log burner, hot coffee, newspapers to read and later, delicious gnocchi and pies to eat for supper!!
The staff were very welcoming and are definately dog friendly! We look forward to returning soon!

We had our departmental Christmas dinner last week. There were 12 of us. We all had a great time. The staff were incredibly efficient and attentive and the food was delicious and excellent value for money. We will definitely return.

Great pub with character, warm and cosy feel to it. Good selection of food and drinks.
Dog friendly, I also spotted dog treats for sale too.
Very pleasant staff. We will definitely visit again.
