The Froize is everything that is fabulous about Suffolk hospitality. A beautiful gastropub, entertainment hub, private venue and food that you will be hard pushed to better anywhere. David is the perfect host, sharing his love of his craft with all his guests, and creating the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Just cannot recommend highly enough, another brilliant meal today!

Best plate of food I've eaten in a long time! And the staff are all top dollar. HIGHLY recommend this pub in the middle of nowhere. My only complaint is the choice of beer, sorry, all too flowery for my palate.

We attended a Folk at the Froize evenings with a meal. The owner David served the guests from a selection of mains before the first half and desserts in the intermission. The food, atmosphere and location were fantastic and we can't wait to return.

This is like a hidden gem but once you’ve been you don’t forget. We come back as often as we can. Everything is to a high standard and always the same. So many choices and you might even be given a little bit extra meat or from another dish (just to try).

Attended an 80th celebration. Staff were excellent, and the food was divine. Such an interesting place, it has its heart in the local folk/art community.

I really enjoyed our visit.

Always fantastic food, always a very friendly welcome. During lockdown, this was the one place my boys (and I) were most looking forward to coming back to. On our visit today, we weren't disappointed! Now, when can we come back...?

Update: We've been back again and weren't disappointed. We had room for dessert this time too, and that was fantastic! (I had the upside-down ginger cake and custard.) David and staff are always so friendly and welcoming, it's always a great meal out.

Update 2: Back again in 2023 and it's still fab! I had the guinea fowl again (see pic), as it was so good last time.

Had a lovely meal out with family and relatives. We all enjoyed our roast dinners! 👍 Great choice of cuttings and trimmings with our roast main. Definitely, book again. Thank you, for providing great service and a great atmosphere. Nice to be served by the chef too! 👨‍🍳

Long time since we last enjoyed a fab Sunday lunch here. David Grimwood served all guests and provided a great explanation of the delicious and locally sourced dishes available. Great mix of old and young guests, mostly well behaved. Be prepared to queue a short while to select your main plates. Sweet menu served to your table equally tasty and plentiful.

Amazing food, ultra consistent. Always a short queue to get served, but more than compensated for by the generosity of the servings - always try a bit everything!

We visited on a Sunday in a heatwave, but it was lovely and cool in the restaurant. The choice of food is vast and of the highest quality. David is passionate about his food and loves to feed his customers, many of whom are obviously regulars.
The portions are generous and all delicious, beautiful cooked and served.

My girlfriend and I went with our friends for a performance by Wör including food. We all had an excellent time, the food was perfect as was the atmosphere and service, the band had our feet tapping in no time. Can't wait to go back!

If you want to enjoy a hearty, tasty meal with your family, we think that this is the best venue for dining in rural Suffolk. We will often book at the Froize for a special occasion and the host, David, always makes us feel really welcome. This place is a real gem with locally produced food and beer which we think is absolutely perfect for a Sunday dinner with the family. A++++

Visited on a holiday whim for the Sunday carvery, great service from Annie and Claire who immediately made us feel at home. Wonderful food by the head chef David who is clearly very passionate and skilled. Hearty portions, no chance of leaving hungry. If only we lived closer!

We went there today as a party of 4 from Kent. We remember it being amazing from about 5 years ago. It still is. Very highly recommended. I had Kidneys with sausage in a amazing thick tasty sauce and the Sherry trifle well other than my mums years ago just traditional and plenty of sherry. Just superb cooking and no cutting corners.

A firm family favourite. Very good value for money, which is appreciated with hungry teens.
Food is presented as a served buffet (so some queuing), it is all top quality and there is ample choice for everyone. You can choose to sample many dishes and the helpings are generous. Everyone, including vegetarians, comes away enthusiastic about the food and atmosphere.

Visited 14 years ago and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, our return was very enjoyable.
The food is absolutely delicious, we waited until the end of the queue for food and were lucky enough to have the chance to sample a bit of each of the main dishes.
The Rabbit cooked in cider with prunes particularly stood out, to be honest all the dishes were really good.
The only negative is the queueing system which seemed a little chaotic but everyone got fed.

We were recommended for Sunday lunch. It was worth the trip. Fabulous fresh local food, superbly cooked. Much of the produce from their own garden. We chose the succulent roast sirloin. Dessert I had crème brûlée, hubby sherry trifle, both delicious. A must to visit. Check website they are only open various times Friday Saturday Sunday.

This is a superb place for a large meal of the highest quality, probably the best in Suffolk. All very locally sourced and made, you will be served by the chef and owner who will give you his undivided attention whilst filling your plate up! Excellent beer and wine too. Quite a rural setting, not on the beaten path, but well worth a visit. Make sure you book well on advance.
