Gorse Hill Hotel Surrey

Gorse Hill is a fantastic hotel for a wedding. It’s a really beautiful Edwardian building and the interiors are very pretty with many of the original features in tact. Lovely gardens for your photos and the Garden suite and the festoon lights on the pine trees are great for the evening party.
The staff are so helpful and make sure that you have everything that you need.
Highly recommended.

Went for an afternoon tea with the family. The staff were very friendly and I had asked for a little something to celebrate a birthday of one of our party. They provided a lovely little cake and all in the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the setting very picturesque. I would definitely recommend this hotel and a destination to stay or eat.

Excellent old mansion and grounds converted to a hotel. Rooms are old but large and well decorated and appointed. Service is great. Food was fairly varied - I only ate from the bar menu, but there is a restaurant as well. Prices are fair - I went midweek with a last minute booking, which was not too expensive. Breakfast was lovely as well. All told, I'd stay here again.

I filmed a wedding video at Gorse Hill recently for my company Surrey Wedding Videos and would have to say that the staff were really friendly and helpful all day. The actual venue is very well laid out and there are plenty of areas within the grounds for couples photos/videos etc. The main building is stunning and looks great on camera, I would highly recommend to other couples looking to book a wedding here.

Wow! What a lovely venue! I am a Surrey wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of photographing numerous weddings at gorse hill! The staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly and the venue itself is gorgeous and has so many picturesque spots.

We had our wedding at Gorse Hill and cannot recommend it highly enough as a wedding venue. One of the things we loved most about Gorse Hill is that it’s a beautiful venue surrounded by trees and in such a quiet, secluded location.

We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception in the Garden Suite. This is a separate building to the main hotel which has a marquee outside and a dance floor, which our guests loved! The grounds are also really well looked after which gave us loads of photo opportunities with our photographer. Last but not least, the food at our wedding breakfast tasted absolutely incredible and we had so many compliments from our guests about it.

From the start, the team have been such a pleasure to work with and made organising our day as straightforward as possible. We’d also like to make special mention of two members of staff for going above and beyond.

Belinda was our events manager and helped us to plan our day start to finish. She is really organised and has a brilliant attention to detail. Nothing was ever too much trouble and emails were always answered very quickly, making planning as easy as possible. We also really liked how Belinda tailored our day to exactly what we wanted which made it feel unique and special just to us. We know a lot of hard work would have gone on behind the scenes, so a big thank you for everything!

After our wedding ceremony, Scott then took over and managed the running of the rest of the day. Scott was very calm and organised, working hard in the background to ensure everything ran smoothly. He was always quickly available if we needed anything and we really liked how quickly and efficiently he managed everything.

We had the most amazing day so we’d like to end by saying a huge thank you to everyone at Gorse Hill for making our wedding so special and memorable!

Really handy location close to Woking without being within the centre. A very nice historic conversion with nice quality rooms. Exceptional service from the reception and restaurant staff.

We had our wedding at Gorse Hill Hotel and can only highly recommend it. We rented the separate building (we think it was called the garden suite) which was very pretty with a lovely little dance floor and outdoor marquee in front. The whole location is very pretty (at least we and all our guests loved it). The communication beforehand was super helpful and thanks again to Anna who was very friendly, supportive and answered all our 1000 questions 🙂
At the day we had an event manager on our side to run the day smoothly. Scott, which we also want to say a big thank you, was so helpful and friendly. We loved that he was calm and in the background but at the same time always present and supportive when we needed him. All the other staff were very friendly as well. We had a buffet and all our guests loved the food and drinks.
We can highly recommend the hotel as wedding venue if it fits your guests number and you love the hotel grounds as much as we did 🙂

I had a lovely festive afternoon tea here today. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a really nice location and restaurant. Strongly recommend!

We had a family reunion here and booked a number of different rooms and reserved the dining room for evening meals and breakfast.

The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The food was excellent and the location is right next to the local golf-course (we could walk through the golf course with the dog with no problems).

It looks like a great location for wedding receptions and corporate meetings.

We had our wedding here at the end of April 2023 and it was a truly spectacular day. The venue is stunning and the food delicious, our wedding coordinator Belinda answered every question and led us through the entire process so we had nothing to stress about on the day itself and could enjoy every second. The team did an amazing job of setting up all the decor, getting people where they needed to be and generally being the most friendly and helpful people we could wish for on the day. Very much recommend, it was a fantastic experience and Belinda's expertise was so valuable and made us very happy with our venue decision

My wife and I got married at Gorse Hill in 2021, and we return each year for our wedding anniversary. Gorse Hill is such a beautiful place with a chance to relax in the gardens, especially when the weather is good. Dinner was lovely, I had the half roast chicken, and my wife had the korean beef, both cooked perfectly. The service was great, and we feel the staff always go above and beyond with their service. We plan to return next September (we only visit once a year as we live some distance from Woking), and we are already looking forward to it. I highly recommend Gorse Hill.

The food is lovely, and we had a great room at the top of the main house overlooking the garden. A really nice touch is the information left in the room about the history of the house.

The surrounding area is also a great place to explore for an afternoon hike. We had a wonderful experience and will gladly return.

I was extremely impressed at the staff at the Gorse Hill Hotel. We had a late drink at the bar and they were so accommodating and incredibly friendly. The bartender in particular was such a warm personality and we did catch him laughing at some parts of our conversation, he definitely contributed to how good our stay was! The hotel is split into different buildings and the outdoor area is beautiful and well-maintained. The room was good, nothing special but it had a comfy bed and was a clean room. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

Attended a work conference here in the garden suite. Staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Coffee was great and really good choice, quantities and flavours for lunch. Cookies also provided 😁. Lovely grounds. Would like to return for a non work visit.

Another lovely 2 nights away at Gorse Hill. Lovely room ,clean and tidy. The staff are lovely, efficient and friendly. Shout out to Philip from Portugal who we hit it off with as we all shared a love of cars . We will definitely return
