Llwyn Hir Picnic Area And Car Park

It's a great place to come with your dog ,for a long walk between the really tall and old trees with wonderful view for a valley. There are 2 stone circles which are perfect places for barbecue. Parking capacity is ok . Highly recommend this as a place where you can spend the lovely afternoon:)

Only two other cars there on a Friday. Gorgeous walk in the snow across the ridges overlooking Cardiff.

Lovely area of forest above Rudry. it has a circular walk above the carpark with wide forestry tracks and some leafy side trails.

Heading north you glimpse and then see the beautiful area towards Machen. Returning it has some lovely views south over the Bistrol Channel and on a clear day to the Quantocks.

Lovely little woodland walk, get away from the busy towns and talk a stroll through the quite beautiful woods

Found this little gem and will be back again as it's a great place to walk the dog. Lots of woodland to explore off the main track which is well maintained so easy underfoot. There is a picnic area at the entrance and it's not that far from the Maellwydd Pub if you need other refreshments. Parking spaces available but are limited.

Beautiful wood, lots of little footpaths which lead into the woods off the main track but you can stay on the track which cuts straight through the woods. Parking is good

Great walk, and despite it being a sunny Saturday around midday, it was quite quiet.

Such an amazingly calming and tranquil location. Perfect for running, walking the dog, or even riding a bike. Been there twice recently, will probably be going back again soon

Great place for a dog walk. Flat path with lots of places to go off the track and explore.

In the evening as the sun is setting I like to go on quiet country walks.
Park the Car and walk down to the road to the entrance of the Quarry opposite the farm entrance.

What a beautiful walk. Lovely geocaching trail here too (for all you non muggles!)

Favourite spot of mine, lovely picnic area and beautiful scenery. Good walking and mountain biking tracks.

Excellent for dog walking, and the maenllywd pub is about 200yards away for post walk drinks!
