What a great place, stayed there 2 nights in caravan, price per night really good with electric hookup. Pub itself is small so need to book for food, all the staff are really nice n friendly and the food is to die for, it's superb, proper chips, not out the bag, melt in the mouth fish, hot double spicy chicken burger, game pie, sausage of the week which changes, also has Quorn option, Belgian waffle n ice-cream with toffee sauce, apple crumble n custard, good portions sizes aswell. Couple of real ales on also which change, pub is also dog friendly ( not that we have dog ) . Will definitely be returning.

We really enjoyed this pub a great country establishment no frills no airs and graces just a good honest pub. The food looked good. Cooked by the landlady's son. The campsite at the rear was busy even in February I'll definitely go again when I'm in the area

Lovely atmosphere and staff, quick service and great food. Very close to the Tissington trail which was a lovely walk from the Rivendale Retreat. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are brilliant and very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic.
We stopped at the campsite, you have access to the toilets through the night if required. Will certainly go back for another visit.
They also have showers and an outside washing-up area. Thee pub is also dog friendly.

Traditional pub in a lovely setting serving excellent pub food at a good price.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and a big thanks to them & the chef who managed to fit us in for meals even though we were after the cut off time on Fri and again when they were already fully booked on Sat. (Should have pre booked early I know!) Both meals were great.

We stayed in the campsite at the rear of the pub using the pub, which has all the facilities you need (shower room, washing up area, water, electric hook up & use of the pub toilets - basic but adequate and clean). A nice peaceful site surrounded by lovely places and great for walking.
Will definitely try to return.

Recently visited this charming pub again in the peak district. It is what we would class as a "proper pub"- great selection of well kept real ales, great staff ( particularly Jan) and good pub food, not overpriced either considering it is in the heart of the peak district, where others have over priced their menu for the tourists. Its got charm too, and clearly well supported by local trade too. These pubs need support!! Particularly after being kicked repeatedly by the authorities during the last 3 years of what must have been hospitality hell. Well done Waterloo. We shall be back next time we visit and thanks for a lovely dinner. Jo and Nick x

Great traditional pub in a really nice village.
Friendly staff and locals.
Fantastic beer garden I could have sat there all day enjoying the sunshine and views.
A choice of traditional cask ales as well as a few lagers and ciders.
Great pitstop if your doing the Tissington trail.

The hosts were fantastic who went out of their way to be helpful. The meals were reasonably priced with good portions. The campsite facilities were as expected, however they allowed us to use a fireplace when we asked.
The showers were great and fairly powerful for their type. Overall, we had a good time with excellent hosts.

What a find! Staying in Hartington we googled pubs near us and this gem was top of the list. The landlady was brilliant and her hospitality, beer, and food were fantastic. As she put it 'we're a pub that sells food, not a restaurant that sells beer!' Long may it continue Waterloo, a great proper boozer with rustic charm, great ale and food and impeccable hospitality, 10 out of 10, we'll be back, thank you. Nick and Jo. Revisited today, just over a year later, great ales, and a proper pub atmosphere, we love this place.

We have had an amazing weekend. A group of us met there for our annual collifest and booked the whole site. Stevie and the staff made us so welcome. The food was great and there was even gluten a d dairy free options. We are all going back again next year

Attended to find the club rally had been cancelled. We'd travelled some distance the campsite behind the pub was fully booked, landlord Steve moved some of the staffs vehicles and allowed us to squeeze in next to the site entrance, all he asked in return was we popped in for a couple of drinks. Fantastic friendy staff great beer, beautiful pub and village will definitely call again. Thank you
