Super cute pub with LOADS of vegan options. So nice to see a pub with a majority vegan menu. The pub itself is pretty dinky which adds to its character. There is a small car park which is good.
The food was simple home cooked food. We both got pasty’s but the burgers looked great too. The staff were also very nice!

Lovely old fashioned quaint pub. We reserved a table for my birthday and they put up some bunting with Happy Birthday on which was a surprise. The staff were very friendly and we had a lovely meal and day. It’s in a lovely village with great walks across the moor nearby.

This is hands down, the best pub! It's in a little, very old village at the top of steep hill. As soon as we walked in the door we said yes!, fnally a genuine old style pub, the fire was on, and an added bonus they have so many Vegan options!! Staff were amazing. Thank you Richard and Sophie for welcoming two random travellers like us, into you place, you made us feel like we were having a meal in your home x

Lovely pub in a beautiful spot. Excellent beers, warm welcome, great service. Amazing choice of vegetarian light bites for lunch. Option for meat eaters too.

Fascinating little pub, thankfully situated in a very peaceful village just off the beaten track and well worthy of its unspoilt billing. One of very few character pubs in this area. Very friendly and personable service, lovely unhurried atmosphere, warm fire, and a nice selection of ales including a good pint of Bass, not always easy to find nowadays amongst a plethora of IPAs. Good wholesome lunchtime food is served, with a welcome mix of good value vegan/vegetarian options on offer. A place to relax and escape the stresses and strains for an hour or two. You won't regret your visit!

Charming little pub, classic have pump ales and super friendly staff. Live music was great too. It's a small pub, but it's a wonderful step back in time and I really recommend you try it.

An amazing village pub full of character and history. The landlord is super friendly and happy to tell all about the pub and the village. The pub has a connection to the phrase "worth its weight in gold" due to the racehorse it's named after. One of only 3 pubs with that name in the UK and very much a key part of the village. Food was on offer, looked good but expect simple pub food not gourmet meals and that's not what this pub is about.
If you are up in the peaks visiting the dancing ladies and other great historic monuments, be sure to stop here for a well-earned rest and enjoy the atmosphere.

What a cracking pub - super food and great beer - wonderful to have such a good veggie choice without the standard 'token veggie options' - super dog friendly - top notch.

What a fabulous, cosy, dog welcoming pub. Loads of vegan options. Great to see a mainly plant based menu. Looking after the planet and animals as well as the customers. We'll be back!

When someone asks me what it is about pubs and drinking, pubs such as The Flying Childers give me the perfect response:
Cosy, welcoming, intimate and full of character. Add to that, great beers and log fire.
A lovely experience.

Awesome seitan and jackfruit burger with a delicious pint of Abbeydale Moonshine. Great menu with loads (a surprising amount) of veggie and vegan options! Great location! A Proper English Pub!!

Genuinely the nicest pub we've had the pleasure of visiting in the Peaks. Incredibly welcoming hosts even though it was past closing after lunch and great selection of beers and snacks. We'll be back for sure!

Stumbled upon this place after a steady 10 mile circular walk around Stanton Moor. Was greeted by the most friendly landlord I have possibly ever met! A cracking chap with alot of interesting chat about the area. Lovely setting both inside and out. Great selection of beers, bars snacks and its also dog friendly!!

Will be visiting again soon!

What a great little pub this is! Head out to the Seven Sisters, Druids Caves or Robin Hood's Stride in the morning, then head here for a delicious lunch and a friendly welcome!

But get there early, as it is popular and busy!

My wife, daughter and I had a light lunch: ham & cheese toastie, ham sandwich and pea and ham soup. Finished up with brownie & ice cream and Bailey's Coffee. With refreshments, we paid £37 which we found very reasonable and went away very satisfied.

The small Christmas market which they were hosting was a pleasant surprise.

Our daughter had a great time with the hustle and bustle that comes with a cosy pub and had a great chat about her ice cream while she waited

Already planning our next visit, with family, later this month.

Had lunch here last week, lovely little pub which is dog friendly, serves good beer and has a fairly unusual menu. The fish finger sandwiches were lovely.
Only rom for 3 or 4 cars in park and road parking is tight.

Great vegetarian and vegan food and good cider and wine at a very fair price - what more could you want?

After many visits over the last few years, this place's food keeps getting better and better!
The Flying Childers really is one of our favourites!

Really excellent pub. Family have been going here for 40 years and coming all the way over from Dublin I was given a warm welcome and the pint of Bass I've been looking forward to for ages. Great spot!
