We stayed at this beautiful cottage for two nights as a birthday treat and had such a lovely time. The cottage is perfectly decorated to a high standard and has everything you need. We had planned to go out for food both nights but decided to stay in and make the most of our surroundings. Duncan, was a brilliant host and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back once the weather improves so that we can finally finish our hike to Kinder Scout! Weather prevented us this week :-(. Thanks again

Second time staying in this beautiful cottage, first time in the winter months and it was amazing. The cottage is super cosy and comfortable and the dogs loved a snooze in front of the wood burner, as did we!
Beautiful walks direct from the doorstep were much enjoyed and the autumnal colours were incredible. I recommend the butchers in the village, exceptional quality!

We had a very comfortable stay over the Christmas period. The log burner is brilliant, the kitchen has all you need to cook a full Christmas dinner, the rooms were cozy and the peace and quiet was perfect.

Cottage was just as described and absolutely beautiful inside and out. Right on the doorstop of Kinder reservoir and so peaceful. Great amenities and Hayfield is a quick drive for anything else required.

A real little gem.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barn Cottage. A beautifully decorated period cottage, based in picturesque countryside. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including delicious duck eggs and plenty of coffee 😄Duncan and Jen were exceptional hosts. They were amazing with our 7 year old, showing him around the farm and even let him help out. Thank you for being so accommodating. We hope to see you again.

Had an amazing week away. Location spot on to all the popular spots around the peak District. Made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived. Cottage had a lovely homely feel, very clean and modern feel yet kept an old cottage feel too. We would love to return in the future.

Truly beautiful cottage and location, we didn't want to leave, my girlfriend and I stayed for a few nights for my birthday, we loved every minute of it, the barn has been renovated to a very high standard with great attention to detail. We loved the little touches such as some very lovely fresh duck eggs from the farm, milk, bread and butter, wood for the fire, dressing gowns and toiletries. Walks from the barn are breathtaking and we were lucky with the sunny weather which just added to the perfect stay, we met the owners Duncan and Jen around the farm who were very friendly and to add to the highlights allowed us to met and feed the animals. Can't wait to stay another day, thank you very much,
Paul and Tara.

We recently stayed at Barn Cottage, Hayfield which was absolutely amazing. The Barn has been beautifully renovated by Jenny and Duncan to such a high standard and we were fortunate to be able to stay in this luxurious setting for a few days, which was really lovely. No detail has been overlooked and it is definitely one of the best places we have ever rented. The rooms are all of a good size and fits 4 adults in comfortably. Jenny kindly left us bread, eggs, butter, coffee, tea and milk, which was very welcome for our arrival.
It’s perfectly placed for numerous walks in and around Kinder Scout. It’s a very short walk into the quaint village of Hayfield with its cafes, pubs, restaurants and beautiful river. Even though it didn’t stop raining for our entire stay, it didn’t stop us walking every day, as you can’t do anything about the UK weather, we’ll just have to come back when it’s dry. We didn’t get to climb Kinder Scout but that’ll be top of our list for our next stay. We had a brilliant time and would recommend it highly, especially lovely to see the gorgeous sheep.

We had a lovely stay in Barn Cottage, the hosts (not on site) were welcoming and responsive. There were nice touches with beautiful flowers and starter pack of essentials. The Barn has been very tastefully refurbished with great quality fixtures/fittings/appliances etc and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The location is great assuming you are looking for rural and lots of trails and walks from the doorstep. Would not hesitate to book again.

Lovely place to stay. Owners very welcoming and enjoyed a morning meeting all the animals. Cottage has all amenities you could possibly need. Lovely decor. Great walks all around both long and short routes. Went into local village; lots of pubs and cafes a short distance from the cottage. Had afternoon tea, cocktails and a sunday dinner all located in the village. Visited kinder scout reservoir too. Great place for a fantastic family break or anyone wanting to visit the area and stay in a home from home.

Barn Cottage is truly welcoming. We spent a long weekend and were overwhelmed by the tranquility and beauty.
The cottage had all the comforts of home and more-a really comfy bed, fluffy white towels and dressing gowns, beautiful decorative touches and a really exciting ‘constant boiling water tap ‘for making teas and coffees.
We were able to do amazing walks straight from the cottage door and enjoyed making friends with the small holding’s sheep and geese in the field opposite.
The sheep loved having their heads rubbed and the geese liked us to feed them grass.
We will definitely stay again.

What a find!!!! This is a real gem. Super clean and cosy. Felt at home from the minute we arrived to the minute we left.

Superb walks straight off the doorstep and a it’s part of a delightful little small holding. They were absolutely great with my children, kindly letting them help with the animals.
We’d love to return.
Everything you want from a cottage holiday.
Thank you. 10/10

A fabulous holiday location and beautiful cottage. The accommodation is cosy, fitted out with all modern comforts (instant hot tap for coffee is something I need at home!). The farm has sheep that my daughter fell in love with and spent hours talking to. The geese were also highly entertaining to watch. Its peaceful and restful in the cottage with excitement and adventure on the doorstep with walks and mountain bike rides in the High Peak just steps away. We have already booked again!

We stayed in Barn Cottage in August 2020 as part of a climbing trip to Peak District.

The cottage had recently been renovated and it was done to a very high standard. As well as a wood burning stove, comfy sofas and tons of rustic charm, the cottage also had nice premium touches, such as instant boiling water and floor to ceiling windows.

Our host, Duncan, showed us around his farm, located next to the cottage with sheep, geese and more on the way.

Great stay, five stars!

An absolute gem in a beautiful setting - Comfortable and very spacious for a 2 bedroom cottage yet still cosy with charming farmhouse touches. Really comfy bed and beautiful view from the sunny book corner in the lounge. Adorable animals especially the sheep - so friendly wanted to take them home - will definitely be booking again.

Really nice cottage in a great location - perfect base for a mountain bike or walking holiday. Less than a mile to the nearest pub, but in a very quiet location.
Very tasteful decor with high quality fittings. Everything here that you need for a great holiday - nice touches like supplying bread, eggs, etc and even dishwasher tablets. Comfortable bed, excellent shower.
Very highly recommended.
