The Bateman Arms at Shobdon

We needed a place to stay on the road to Ludlow Castle and this was exactly what we needed. The room was brilliantly redone with charming beam and stone accents and comfortable bedding. We stayed in the “family room” which was spacious with a lovely and clean private bathroom. We also had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious-don’t miss the crumble with custard, it was to die for! The staff was so warm and welcoming. 🫶🏻

Clean, well appointed rooms - better than expected actually. Nice pub food and quiet after closing time so we could sleep well. Sarah and her staff were lovely.

We visited last night for a meal, food and service was excellent. The menu has something for everyone. Will definitely return

Great place, friendly and helpful staff. Great food, nice atmosphere. Not too busy. Really enjoyed our visit. We had a family room and it was newly refurbished. Comfortable beds, nice linen. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal on Friday evening. Service was brilliant and friendly, food was amazing and price was spot on. Will be returning.

Big rooms with a bath for a very reasonable price. They are not doing breakfast at the moment. Everything worked and the room was clean. The evening meal was fairly priced and tasty and the staff were very friendly. Good range of beers.

Stopped for lunch and sat out under cover as not sure about the weather. Table service, had a wrap which came with a side salad and chips. Delicious and filling. Recommend and happily go back. Good choices on the menu.

Loved our stay. Mike and his partner are super friendly and the rooms were second to none.

can't comment on rooms didn't stay but I did eat 3 times in one week at this place while staying at a campsite up the road and I'm a really fussy eater, so that should tell you something. Dont jughe by the outside as i feel this could be more appealing but do you know what was good.... we went at different times of the day as they also serve all afternoon, where most places finish at 2, and the food always tasted like it had just been cooked and not sat waiting to be re-heated. The staff we're friendly too, just be aware it's card only no cash. Definitely go àgain when In the area

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here yesterday. The best Sunday lunch we've had in ages! Also staff were very good and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Had Sunday lunch and it was absolutely delicious and very good value for money. One of the best I've ever had. . . and I've had plenty. Highly recommended.

Lovely Stay, room was very nice and was surprisingly warm, staff were exceptional.

Great to see this place opened up again. Limited menu at moment but this is going to expand I’m told. Fabulous burgers. We will be back. Can highly recommend.

Great experience today. Excellent service throughout our family meal. Burgers were fab and the homemade pizzas were a true delight. Rebooked for our return.

Very good sunday roast! They’ve done a nice job updating this old local pub. Looking forward to seeing more new additions to the menu in the future!

Ate in the restaurant twice in a week and both times the service was friendly and helpful and the food was superb.
