Tafarn-Y-Phoenix

This was our second visit. There were a few issues with our food the first time we visited but as all of us were travelling from different locations which are over an hour away we decided to try the place again. In fairness we were impressed with everything from the service to the delicious food that was cooked beautifully. As a consequence we’ll definitely return. We meet as a group of three or four every 6 weeks or so. We’re pleased we’ve found somewhere that’s central to us all we can meet at. It wasn’t too busy yesterday so we were there chatting away over lunch for three hours and it was really comfortable. Food and drinks were quickly delivered to the table. There had been a difficulty with payment being taken on our first visit so we made sure that was settled. There was also a 30% off meals offer on so the overall cost was excellent.

My table for 12 was catered for wonderfully. Bar and serving staff were polite, ensuring we had an enjoyable evening. Definitely a lovely experience enjoyed by us all. Compliments to the chef and a big thank you to the service staff.

Have never had a bad meal here. Food is always excellent. Well presented and tasty. Staff,although always busy are courteous and friendly. The restaurant toilet and bar areas are always clean.

WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!

I have been to the Tavern Y Phoenix several times over the last two years and although the food and service was good, nothing will ever compare to the lunch experience we have had this afternoon. From the initial booking experience to the actual visit today; the ambiance, cleanliness, professional quality of the service and food was truly exceptional.

As a large family, I had several extra requests with regard to where we were placed within the venue and food requirements. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the manager Alex and the chef Patrick. A wonderful welcome by both of them and the rest of the staff, the food was on a par if not way above a top quality restaurant. As a previous trainer/manager of within a successful national brewery, I am very critically aware of the the training and customer experience within the hospitality industry. Take it away boys and girls, you were amazing!!! Can't wait to book another visit to the Tavern Y Phoenix. I would be immensely proud to be a representative of your team!

Delicious meal out with my friend, service was top class, we were served by a lovely waitress who was really busy seeing to all the orders. Unfortunately I did shout at the poor girl by mistake and apologized for seeming rude but she gave me a lovely smile bless!

My wife and i cannot fault the service we received and the food was always fresh and very efficient and absolutely gorgeous. The staff were lovely and very friendly i would highly recommend this pub for a good night out.

What a difference! Probably the best service and food we’ve had at our local pub. Special mention to Lisa and Lewis for their exceptional customer care - with these two at front of house, you’re on to a winner! Diolch and looking forward to our next visit.

Took my daughter out for a mid week meal, the food was great we ordered sausage and mash and hunters chicken we also had sides of garlic bread and onion rings all was delicious, staff were all superb and really friendly it was busy but not overcrowded and the atmosphere was lovely, there is ample parking on site and it was wheelchair friendly will definitely return.

Friendly welcome from the manager, who showed us our table. Order for drinks and main meal given, and our meal arrived in about 15minutes. A nice atmosphere in the room, with several tables already occupied, and more tables getting occupied while we were there.

Staff were amazing. Food was great and served fast to say how busy it was.
Cozy atmosphere. Shout out to Alex who made sure my friend could customise her dish she ordered. Will definitely be coming back soon.

The absolute best pub I’ve ever been in, I thoroughly enjoy coming here with my family, friendly and safe place, only going to get better !

Even though they were out of steaks due to having had an unexpected large party earlier that day there was still enough choice for us. meals were hot and tasty and enough of it. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed it.

Nice food at a good price. Friendly helpful staff good atmosphere, nice and warm on a cold day.
