Central Co-op Food - Blaby Road, Wigston

Always get what you want. Unfortunately the disabled parking was taken by someone not displaying a blue badge. Which is annoying

I normally pop into the Tesco further down the road after work but decided to check out the Co-Op for a change. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The range of products available is far greater than the Tesco store. The Co-Op is not as attractive inside as the Tesco store, however it makes up for this with the wide variety of foods, spices, alcoholic beverages, etc that is stocked.

Still a decent place to shop.

Busy store mainly during lunch period. 1-3 car parking available front of store. Usually the road is busy. You will see good lunch options available here and Veg options too. Fast serving on tills. Shelf are filled. Nothing on the floor that can trip you over.

Friendly local store.

Again this co-op is ok especially if you live local.. could do with a better arrangement. Sometimes it's all over the place. Re vamp is needed.

Be AWARE use their own loyalty card which costs £1 or your discount won't be applied and you'll pay an inflated price

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff who seem to make their own rules up as they like.

Went to pick up a couple of parcels on behalf of a friend. They were delivered via eBays click and collect service which requires no ID as long as you have the collection email and details which I had.

Was told “No you need ID of the person whose name is on the parcel, check the details you have and it says it there” I showed her all the information and said it says nothing about ID “Well read it out as its there” was the response.

I read out all the information which again said nothing about ID, even showed her eBays page which says you don’t need ID but apparently, they still need ID.

Another very unhelpful member of staff joined in and without looking at any of the information I was trying to show her just repeated the same thing. I asked if this was eBays policy or theirs, “it’s our policy” was the response.

As I left the store I was told to “have a nice day!” in a very sarcastic tone.

A complete waste of time and effort as now I have to wait for my friend to find their ID and visit the store again by which point the parcels will most likely be returned as they only hold them for a short period of time.

Went to collect an item from this store, very rude staff and refused to give an item I had paid for after their error as they did not scan the item when it arrived a few days before. Thankfully managed to resolve the issue with the provider but will be never setting foot in this store again.

Tells you to register for coop membership app . Won't scan QR code provided by said app, leaving you to waste time and money.

Asked for ID to buy cigarettes. I’m 33 years old. Would you ID me?
