Highfield House Farm Shop Reviews

Staying nearby for the week up from London, found this lovely place. The breakfasts were amazing, scrambled egg in particular. Loads of tasty treats such as Bakewell slices, chocolate fudge brownies to munch on too. Farm shop was great, could’ve spent a fortune! We got some steak pies which were delicious, big chunks of soft steak and lovely gravy. We’ll be back!

Highfield House Farm Shop was an absolute lifesaver during lock-down, when they transformed into an all-singing, all-dancing shop where you could buy pretty much everything you needed. Their range is still brilliant and every Thursday, just after lunch, "Shaun the Fish" turns up in his van with his catch from the boats in Grimsby to sell delicious fish. Josh and his band of merry brothers and sisters at HHFS are all charming, knowledgeable and skilful. Particular faves for me are their lamb cutlets and - every few months - they have heritage breed Dexter cuts available. Josh also gets the veggie haggis for me, which I love (apols to all those true haggis lovers). But, this weekend, we had a very special treat indeed. They'd made hot water crust Dexter meat pies. OMG - these were sensational. Well, it was. The meat was cooked low and slow - the gravy ooooozed out and was rich and deeply flavoursome, pastry the right balance of crispy and soft. I have a mind to now only serve these to guests. Super reasonable at £6 per pie with masses to go round 2 people. This is an absolute must (but please don't buy them all before I get back to them). Bravo my friends :-)

Great farm shop with a range of their own sauces! They have all kinds of sausages and meats, all of which are delicious.
Per kilo the beef is 20%+ higher in price than my local butchers, but you expect a little gouging with these types of places. Quality the same. Great quality and a full lineup of products.
Will be back!

Great little farm shop, we stopped on our way out of Bakewell and got a delicious cake. The staff were extremely friendly.

Don't tell anyone but this is one of the best farm shops in Derbyshire. Their hot sausage rolls are fabulous. Their selection of cheeses is second to none. Their customer service is brilliant.
Go next door to the cafe and a menu with everything you could fancy. Their milk shake was worth the trip out by its self. We always judge cafes by their tea. The appearance of a tea strainer arriving told us that they were using real tea leaves. Two decent cups of tea kept him happy.
Try it even if you just want sausage rolls and a pot of tea, enjoy it.
Just don't tell everyone it's our secret.

Friendly place, had the best freshly made soup ever, great coffee. Relaxed atmosphere. Good access for my elderly frail dad as all flat, no steps

Good farm shop, lots of choice of good quality meat and many other deli goods. Dave the butcher was friendly, helpful didn't rush us. Then a nice coffee outside on the patio with lovely views of the Peak district. Looking forward to breakfast there when we can eat in or outside in the warm weather.

It was raining cats and dogs and blowing a hooly on our bikes to the next stop. A welcome break with easy access and ample parking. I ordered the cream tea and was served a scone fit for the gods.
Will definitely call in again when in the area.

Always a warm welcome by the friendly staff. Lovely and clean. Plenty of choice. Our meals were freshly prepared and looked and tasted, as always, extremely good. Today we had lunch but have also visited for breakfast and coffee and cake. Farm shop is an added bonus as are the views over the fields.

First visit. Small shop but good produce. Was told that fish man visits Thursday and Friday between 2-3pm. Too early for me today, but next visit I will co-incide with them.
Nice country lanes and views from my home to the shop. Friendly staff.
