As one of Wales's smaller castles, this is probably overlooked. It has a small free carpark, and there's a children's playground right next door.
Signage could do with some improvement, as it's easily missed, but well worth a visit.

Worth a visit especially with the children. There is parking outside next to a small play park. At first it looked like the front entrance was locked.
There is a pub very close to the castle but wasn't open on our visit.

Lovely castle, tucked away in a quaint area. Decent size, next to nothing to read about the history of it though. Fair bit of litter but I won't mark it down because of the ingrates that ruin the scenery for others. The main staircase here (which was locked off) clearly used to be massive at one point, this is the first time I have seen one this big.

Amazing how much is left standing, interesting ruin, could do with a bit more signage to explain the layout. Locals treat it as a play area, it seemed a bit unloved.

Great castle, shame about the litter scattered about when there is a bin just outside. Parking available just outside.

First time to this castle and although there isn’t much you can go into or up it is free to enter.

Plenty of space for kids to run around including the remains of the now empty moat. There is a kids play park by the small car park.

If your take an interest is castles this should be on your list.

Who doesn’t love a ruined castle?! Fab to wander around and great for hide and seek. Small playground adjacent with swings and rope climbing/spinning thingy!

Nice place for a picnic or a photoshoot. Free to get in. Free parking but limited. Children's play area too.

Lovely place was a lot bigger than I was expecting my son loved it so did I. Nice too see that they named most parts of the building so we were able too workout what they used too be when it was all intact.

A small castle nestled in the heart of a village. It's not immediately obvious how you get in as one of the entrances is blocked off. However, once you're in, the ruins are quite fantastic. There's a sign on the wall as you enter showing how it looked and explains when the different bits were built. You'll only be there 30 minutes at the most, but well worth a stop.

This castle is more impressive than it's subtle location suggests. Many of the shaped facia stones are still present, with some fabulous arches and fire places still intact. English kings visited here and the Welsh besieged this castle!

Beautiful remains, a little spot of peace + history in the middle of town. Well looked after + hopefully it won't deteriorate further. Well worth an hour to walk around + just sit + think.

Awesome castle ruins and very well looked after.
Entrance is opposite to the post office
Bad points. The rubbish in and around the sunken parts of the castle is heartbreaking to see.

Great place not far off the M4 - good for breaking up a journey and stretching the legs for half an hour. Kids loved exploring all the nooks and crannies and playing hide and seek.

A lovely, quaint castle nestled in a quiet village.
Would definitely recommend for a family day out.
The space is also secure and safe for dogs.

Gated area so safe for children to run around on the green, supervised obviously. Lots to see and explore.

Free to visit. A lovely opportunity for adult and children to have space to enjoy the old castle in its ruined state but in an informal atmosphere.

Lovely old ruin. Only one thing; could people NOT leave litter around. One of a group of kids playing there just dropped a plastic bottle on the ground and left it there... are Coety kids now too posh to pick up after themselves? (Plus thick tourists walking on the walls.)
