We love this stop on the safari. The giraffes are lovely animals and there is a chance to feed them if you are there at the right time. The other animals in the section are also worth a visit. It’s a good chance to pick up snacks for the rest of the safari.

We have been to Longleat Safari Park a few times, but this was the first time we stopped off at African Village. We were surprised at how much we had been missing. There are quite a few fenced paddocks containing tortoises and capybara ( super large versions of the guinea pig family) and secretive Lemurs on the way to the toilet blocks. Great views of the giraffe & zebra from piers you can walk onto. Retail shop for plush toy gifts. Lovely cafe with fresh hot snacks and coffees or pepsi max and sandwiches (including gluten-free) where you can eat in or out and still watch the giraffe. Would be a great spot for a break on a hot day where you have to keep the car windows closed most of the time in the rest of the Safari.
There is plenty of off-road parking and a few disabled parking spots on the road a little further along. There are no extra fees for the village, but it has to be visited as part of the main Longleat Safari Tour, which has entrance fees unless you have purchased the Annual Pass.

Stopped off here to see the giraffes and zebras. It did not disappoint. We were just in time for feeding them. It was £2 per branch and they limited the number of people on the platform feeding them at any given time. It was an amazing experience, The kids couldnt believe how long and strong the giraffes tongues were. Would highly recommend you stop. Only disappointment was the walk through lemur part was closed.

Great little rest stop and view point along the safari. You can see the giraffes and zebras (although the zebras weren't in the best view during our visit)
There is a cafe and a shop... Always an opportunity to spend a bit more cash. Both were well controlled for covid.
The stop is right at the start of the safari so once you have past it you will have to come all the way around again so think about going in first. If you need to go around a second time you will have to do about 90% of the safari again to get back to the main car park in Longleat. We went around twice because if this. Even without stops for pictures the drive around can take an hour so if you are balancing time across all of Longleat then consider that. Overall a great part of a great attraction in a great place.
