The Sun & Slipper

Brilliant food and excellent service. Friends and I went for Sunday lunch. When we arrived the staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was an excellent choice of Sunday roasts and a good selection of other very nice meals.
The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed.
The toilets were also very clean.

It's worth noting that the ladies' toilet is down a couple of steps.

Would I go again? Definitely.

Our first visit to this lovely pub, Thursday Lunchtime treat for my birthday. We were looked after by Wendy front of house, Becky from the kitchen served our delicious , well presented food, wished I'd taken photos.

Excellent place. Beautiful surroundings, inside pleasant dogs with a waggly welcome. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Friendly and efficient staff. All tables full, everyone enjoying themselves.

My father celebrated his 77th birthday here. I called ahead to pay because I live in Canada and the woman was very helpful. My parents said the food was amazing. A calm and relaxed atmosphere. The only complaint my mom had was that they wouldn’t sell her the two St Bernard dogs that were there haha.

An hidden gem set off the main road and easy just to sail by however visit once and you'll come back again well balanced menu with traditional and specialist fish dishes cooked with sauces to crave about - The Chef and owner can seriously cook great food - Five star plus recommendation

Lovely local pub where everyone knows everyone else and the service is great. Highly recommended for anyone going past to drop in for a pint and a meal!

Your customers where raving in the bar about the fish dishes and especially the Monk Fish, both of which had eaten with you in the last 24hours... and where back for Sunday lunch! Welcoming, friendly staff, excellent food from kind chef Roger Carr who went the extra mile. What's not to like. Go pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Visited for the first time last night. The food is outstanding, amazing taste, generous portions, great service. We will be back !

Top notch Roast Dinner in the lovely Dining room. Attentive and friendly service. Pub also has Robinson's Flagon on tap too.

A fantastic country pub…

We visited here for Mother’s Day after a recommendation from a neighbour and all three of us had a lovely meal. We managed to get a reservation at relatively short notice which was a bonus.

The staff were very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere in general very nice.

We will definitely be returning!

Just a small dining area but very nice, the staff are wonderful and looked after are large party with children as well. Took time to talk to the children and treated them as people and spoke to them rather than about them. Highly recommend as a location, and could not fault them and have nothing negative to say. The food was top class good quality and good portion sizes. It has its own car park which has plenty of spaces for the size of establishment.

My husband and I first went to the sun n slipper July 2018. We were so impressed we’ve continued to go regularly for our meals if we go out. We had our Xmas lunch there which was impeccable. The atmosphere,service, and homely feeling was great. By far the best Xmas lunch we have had for 2 yrs in comparison to where we had been previously. We enjoyed it so much we actually and went again for New Year’s Eve meal. Again great food lovely atmosphere. Always felt very welcome. We’ve booked again for our Xmas lunch for 2019. Wendy and her staff are so nice . And of course not forgetting Roger the chief of course fantastic chief. Wishing them all a happy new year.
