Had a great meal. Local butcher supplied the sirloin steak which was delicious. The wife enjoyed her hunters chicken as well. All side dishes were cooked fresh and washed down with their selection of wine and ales. Lucky to have this as my local..

7 for Sunday lunch and 2 veggies. Separate gravy, roasties and a squash/nut roast. Choice of 3 meats for us. The cheeses leeks were stunning, as were the roasts and yorkies. Reasonably priced and a local and lovely atmosphere.
Deserts are varied and lush. Defo recommend ! Ana Gunn

Excellent food and atmosphere, we had a lovely evening, clean plate's all round. Definitely worth popping in if you fancy home cooked food and a game of pool.

We turned up whilst on a days cycling tour, and a 70th birthday party was going on, so it was very busy. The landlady asked if we'd booked, but despite not doing so, nothing was too much trouble, and she made us a couple of delicious roast beef baguettes. Made us feel very welcome.. Great pub great landlady and great atmosphere.. Cannot recommend highly enough 👍👍😍

9 of us came here for a carvery last Sunday and it was the best carvery I've ever had! Meat and veg all cooked perfectly, everything was delicious and I think all homemade. The cheesy leaks were particularly amazing. Staff were all very friendly. Thank you Steve and co for making us all feel welcome.

Just had the best Sunday carvery dinner ever. The beef was to die for and there was a great choice of veg. We went towards the end of the serving and it was all still hot and lovely. Proper roast potatoes too. Can’t rate it enough. If you’re in the area, this is the best Sunday dinner for miles around.

what a find!food excellent, drink excellent.the landlord was a born entertainer, had us in stitches especially when we asked if the pie was complete pastry not a casserole with a lid on. all the food was freshly cooked and if you can please my wife, you can please anyone. nice atmosphere and loved the old photos of the old saw mill on the wall. Sunday carvery. Visited with my brother and family, up from Brighton on holiday. All of us thought it was a awesome meal. Creamy leeks! How were they so good? Thanks for a lovely meal.

Excellent little village pub. Light and airy with a lovely atmosphere. Food is plain but well cooked and very tasty. Landlord could not have been more helpful, suggesting places to visit in the area. Will definitely be returning during our stay in the village.

Swung by this pub on a 24 hour bike race.
The landlord was nothing short of an absolute hero. Full of banter and charm. He really went out of his way to help us out. Such a gentleman. Funny friendly locals as well.
Thanks Steven. You actually made my day!

Myself and 2 friends have just been for a meal at the Sitwell Arms which we thoroughly enjoyed. We can recommend it for the good food, value for money and Steve the convivial host who helped to make it a very enjoyable evening.

After a long walk from hopton to bucknell. We called in to rest our legs. We was greeted by Steve the landlord who was very friendly and welcoming. After one to many drinks we realised we had missed the one of few trains running back to Hopton. Steve kindly offered to run us back which was very much appreciated otherwise we would of been stuck. We will pop in again when we’re next in the area to say hello. Happy birthday again for yesterday.

When you know the owner what can you say... The pub makes up for their inadequacies.. haha this is a great country pub with very nice food and lovely staff. It can get a bit rough later at night but with being so close to the boarder you can forgive their anger at being born on the wrong side of it.
