This is a regular bike/hike stop of mine. Great service and just tasty traditional fare at a reasonable price. They also happen to make the best chocolate flapjacks in the world…the universe even!

Fantastic local shop in downtown Talybont.

There's a shop, post office and cafe.

Shop has all you'd need if you're camping, boating or staying locally.

The cafe has some great treats and decent fayre to fill you up after a day's adventuring.

Next to the cafe is Bike's & Hike's bike repair and hire shop. I don't have enough superlatives for Keith and the bike shop. But if you need anything or want to explore by bike, and you really should whatever your level, drop in and he can make it a pleasure.

Awesome place to eat. Served 10 of us cyclists with freshly made sandwiches of out choice. Malted bread available! Decaff tea too!
Lovely, reasonably priced cakes when we called on the way back! You can sit inside or out, depending on the weather.the staff were so pleasant and helpful too.
Thoroughly recommended!!

Best bara brith I've ever had with great service. I was silly enough to leave my wallet behind, came back the next day and they made sure they weren't just handing back to anyone. Really good people with really good cakes.

5 star for post office, shop and cafe. Great little Pitstop, please support this small family business, they work really hard. There are always locals and visitors here as it's such a useful little place.

Stopped at the café for a drink and a bite to eat. Cafe was close to closing (5pm) but they were still kind enough to serve us take away hot drinks and cake, cream tea and a Mr whippy. We sat outside and watched the activity around the road and the canal. Very nice.

The coffee and walnut cake is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Discovered this delightful shop while on a 100-mile cycle ride. For a £5 deposit there are padlocks/chains so you can lock your bike. What a fabulous idea! Such a simple way to be really bike-friendly.

Even though I arrived after the cafe was closed, the shop/post office was still open, and they allowed me to use the loo in the cafe which was very much appreciated.

I bought an enormous slice of coffee and walnut cake for such an incredibly cheap price I had to ask if there was a mistake. I can honestly say the cake was the very best coffee and walnut cake I have ever eaten! Turns out the cakes are baked on the premises by a phenomenally talented young man. I immediately enquired whether the cake-baker was married, as having a husband who can bake such awesome cakes must be quite marvellous. Sadly he is already married. Ho hum. I shall just have to keep returning to this little shop as often as possible to eat more of this marvellous cake.

Excellent home-cooked food. We walked to Talybont-on-Usk from Brecon, along the canal path, ate here and walked back. The food is hot, tasty and the service is quick. Well worth stopping to 're-fuel' if you're passing by car, canal or on foot. Friendly and helpful staff.

A really nice cafe just across the road from the canal.
Parking could be a problem at times as there is only on street parking.
There is inside and outside seating.

Contrary to the one star review, I was in the cafe when a mini bus full of young lads came in. I found the service to be very efficient, organised and very helpful with a smile for every young lad served. Always good service great food and coffee.
