Had an absolutely brilliant dining experience! The food was spot on—full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent too, with friendly and attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

We decided to try the Five Bells a couple of weeks back after hearing great things. On arrival we had a warm welcome and a little banter regarding running out of my wife’s favourite tipple. I wanted a steak but as I was out the week before at a Marco Pierre White steak house and had a ribeye steak there I was slightly reluctant as I would obviously compare and wow I am so glad I did it was actually better it was cooked to perfection the peppercorn sauce was perfect and the chunky well seasoned chips was amazing ! In fact the whole meal was a true taste sensation. We have since been back to try the tapas which again was delicious, and after being introduced on the first night to a baby Guinness while talking to the new owners Bill & Lucy this is also a new firm favourite of ours. It was such a lovely night and to be made to feel so welcome is something you don’t normally get when you go out to a restaurant, this is now a new firm favourite pub to visit !

A wonderfully welcoming country pub with excellent food. Spent a very happy afternoon with friends and enjoyed the most delicious tapas. Will definitely be returning soon!

Had a get together with friends (8 of us in total), service, atmosphere, food and drink, all excellent. The sunny weather added to the atmosphere in the garden, along with some great music in the background too. Highly recommend

First time we have visited but we will definitely be back. The food was very good with an interesting selection of vegetables for each dish. We chose from the main menu but the tapas menu looked really interesting and we'll be trying that soon. Good selection of beers including from local breweries. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall a real winner.

We popped in off the cuff and without a booking after a visit to Grimsthorpe Castle (Saturday Eve). Restaurant full but they were very happy to accommodate us in the bar. The food was really good (a Hake and a chicken main course). The table service was great- attentive and friendly. We will be back to sample some of the Spanish Dishes which the owners recommended. Keep up the great work!!!

We had drinks, no food. The place is really cosy, with great decor, loads of parking and fabulous outside seating area in the back garden.
The staff are really lovely, friendly and welcoming. The loos are lovely, fresh clean, and very well equipped.
Highly recommend a visit to this place. We're going in a couple of weeks to dine!

A recently updated pub with friendly bar staff and a lovely garden.
Lunchtime dinner recently was of amazing quality and presentation, with good portion sizes. A little on the pricey side but worth it.

Restaurant service was a little disorganised that day with one person doing most of the work, but not a huge problem.
Reasonable amount of parking on site.
Lovely garden.

My girlfriends and I went to the Five Bells last Saturday night for Tapas. The food was outstanding, the best Tapas we've had and the service was impeccable. The staff checked in on us enough but not too much and we were made extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. The pub is environment is very friendly and tasteful as is the restaurant area on the back of the main bar. I can highly recommend this place, its a real gem!

Great local pub. Food always excellent with friendly service. Recommended!

2024 Update:

We went today for the first time under the new management. The menu has a good selection - now with tapas! The food was delicious, and the service was good too. We sat in the garden with our dog, overlooking the stream at the back. We look forwards to our next visit!

If you haven’t been since the new owners have taken over, then I suggest you do!!! Warm, friendly service, they go above and beyond service and are really making the effort to make the absolute best of this lovely village pub! It’s our new local - great food and a fab choice ales and drinks on offer! A MUST VISIT!

Stopped here on a ride out on the bikes today, the pub was very clean n’ tidy, the barmaid was really welcoming, polite and helpful. Having not had inches cider before I was offered a small tipple to try which was a nice touch as some pubs wouldn’t even think to offer.

Really pleased with the service and will definitely be coming back again when we are passing next

Thank you very much

We had the most wonderful meal on Saturday night. The atmosphere was so inviting and we loved that they have integrated their experience of living in Spain into their cuisine including a separate tapas menu (the tapas were actually authentic!) The food was spot on, everything cooked to perfection and with a good portion/price ratio. The owners made us feel very welcome and the staff were super attentive. We will definitely be back. Muchas gracias, hasta la próxima ☺🙌🏼

Didn't eat here today, but lovely atmosphere, great selection of beers and a beautiful beer garden. The table at the bottom near the river is my favourite spot
