This was a superb pub for drinking, with a vintage aesthetic suiting the spa town of Buxton! The shelves with artefacts, stained-glass windows and curved pillars are beautiful decorations. The counter has a neat squared layout and staff were friendly, serving in decent time at decent prices. I had a classic pint of Carling, sitting at the comfortable leather seating and plenty of tables are available!

Amazing food, good sized portions.
Staff were great, and apologised for the short wait (only waited for around 30 mins).

Very nice pub with great food. The beef & ale pie is one of the best pie's I have ever gotten. It is kinda self service where you order at the bar, drinks you get right away which is great. Food will be brought to your table.
I liked it but I can imagine some wouldn't like it

We booked our wedding reception venue at the Old Clubhouse - and it was perfect. From setting up to the actual evening, from the delicious buffet to the relaxed pub drinks, from Sarah the GM to all the wonderful staff, we had the best time & cannot thank you all enough! Highly recommend to anyone! We will be back :)

We were looking for a typical place to have a cold beer and we found this place located near our hotel, when you enter you can see that it is an old place, the staff very attentive and the beer cold.

Ryan and Jane, were excellent tonight, food was lovely and very quick and very reasonably priced. The 5 items kids meal for £4.99 was excellent value for money. Ryan and Jane very friendly professional and attentive. Service was top order and Highly recommended 10/10

Really interesting building with large windows overlooking the street outside. Warm and busy on a damp, foggy Saturday afternoon in late October. Live sport is screened on several large TV screens, but it's not intrusive - it might be if there was a high profile event on.
The selection of beers and drinks was excellent and the bar, bottles and glasses sparkled and was very inviting. We didn't eat (but the food being served was going down very well, looked good and the portions were of decent size), but stopped for a warm up and dry out after a walk on the hills surrounding Buxton and Burbage. The Old Club House is popular with a wide range of people and the bar is dog friendly with water and treats available.
The main toilets, clean and tidy, are upstairs and a couple of seating areas in the bar have steps. I didn't spot a disabled toilet, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.
If I lived in Buxton I think the Old Club House would be a place I visited quite often, the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was busy, but not overly loud and the customers were a good mix of locals and visitors, ladies meeting up for a chat, families doing lunch and everyone else!

We had our wedding reception in the Function room upstairs. We had a halloween party and we were allowed to set the room up the day before which was brilliant!

It was an absolutely amazing night, the staff at the Clubhouse are just fantastic, the food was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better night!

We also went for meals on the days after our wedding, superb meals!

Thanks Oliver and Team xx

A great welcome from Sarah. Couldn't have been more helpful. We were served by Tiber. A really pleasant young man who is very good at his job. Excellent friendly service. Four of us chose the beef and ale pie. Absolutely delicious.

Delicious food! Very dog friendly, you can order off a separate menu for your dog. My dog had a good portion of chicken and was extremely happy. The staff were all welcoming. The food was so tasty and to a high standard.

Had a really nice lunch with my 3 year old daughter here after a morning in the gardens. Food was great and reasonably priced and our waitress, Beth, was especially helpful, providing crayons and a colouring sheet for my daughter and chatting away to her about her grazed knee. Would highly recommend!

Excellent food and drink consumed at the delightful Old Club House in Buxton. A warm welcome and great service from the staff was a nice treat on a wet and windy day. This pub has great character, interesting decor and good range of food and drink on offer at reasonable prices. Ideally located if you are visiting the opera house or gardens next to it.

I was very impressed with this pub. We had gammon for our tea. The portion size was just right and the price was very reasonable. Even a customer gave us his table because it was busy. That wouldn't happen in any other pub. Busy but with a great atmosphere

Been able to visit this place the last few weeks with the festival and Izzy behind the bar has been so kind, friendly and attentive, she has a huge welcoming smile that makes you feel like you’re home from home.

We just came to tour around Peak District and we decided to stay in Buxton! Old club house was the first bar we went to and the service was awesome. I requested for hot water as I was having headache from drinking wine and the bar waitress provided it to me. I was vwry grateful for that.

We have been to this pub every day of our 4 day stay in Buxton. We had our 2 dogs with us and this was, by far, the dog friendliest pub we have ever been to.Doggy menu with choice of meats, and doggy ice cream, which our girls loved! Big shout out to Jane who made every visit feel special, what a lovely person who made our stay so great! We will definitely be returning 😀

Despite being very busy, Sarah (manager) made us welcome, as always. The lamb shank Sunday roast, with all the trimmings was superb. Price per person includes a very reasonably priced bottle of wine. Highly recommended.
