There is just so much to see in the vicinity, but add Tintern Abbey to your itinerary, if you're fortunate with the weather ( always a risk in England ) then this is a picturesque treat. Easy to spend a few hours here with a well marked tour.

Awesome spiritual abbey which never disappoints us during more than 50 years of visits! Take coffee & cakes @ White Monk or Lunch @ Anchor! Lovely walk to Tintern Village along River Wye! Fantastic Excursion!

Did enjoy visiting this place of interest.
I tried to imagine as I walked around how I thought the abbey looked originally, took a couple of nice pics. My kids enjoyed wandering, asking me questions on some of the info up on the walls. Whilst there we sat and ate a picnic which was permitted under a beautiful 🌲, watched three young men, climbing the remains of part of the abbey. I know that wasn't allowed as there were signs stating just this, still we watched as they climbed higher. They didn't dissapoint. ⛅ was out kids ran about enjoying the freedom. Other families too. The only down side little pricey. We spent around half hour to fourty five minutes to walk around as that is more than enough time to check out the ruins. Is why we ate lunch there. Overall a good day. Never been there before. Worth a visit. Take a picnic if weather is good otherwise i reckon an hr and youll be done.

The roofless ruins of this 13th century Cistercian Abbey on the Welsh bank of the River Wye perfectly captured the Romantic spirit of poets and painters when it became a famous landmark for the second time in the 18th century. Wordsworth wrote a poem "Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey" that beautifully evoked the "wild secluded scene" and Turner visited to sketch for later paintings. Today, one of the best viewpoints of the abbey is from the Devil's Pulpit Circular Walk.

The archways are very nice. Not a lot more to see.
