Parking can be a bit problematic. I was lucky and got the only free space at 10.30. Access to the cafe is by a number of steps. I’m disabled but luckily my dining partner is not and managed to climb the steps to place our order and pay.
We had a delightful table outside overlooking the canal which is what we wanted.
Food arrived promptly and my mini breakfast and English breakfast tea were both excellent. There was a nice atmosphere outside with dog walkers, cyclists and others all chatting away. There was usually a hushed silence when a canal boat passed by.
Give this place a try. If you can get parked close by you will not be disappointed.

Great café, does get busy but you can book a table. Nice seating outside too. Quality of food is great and a very friendly team. Definitely worth a visit if you're walking or cycling on the canal or Middlewood Way 👍

After a pleasant stroll along part of Middlewood Way, and back along the canal to Bollington, five of us were delighted to enjoy a most satisfying meal at this cosy little place in part of a re-purposed former cotton mill. Speedy service, pleasant staff, good food. What more can one ask :)

A lovely cafe inside Clarence Mill, beside the canal. Seating inside (up some fairly steep steps) and outside on the level. A really peaceful place to sit and watch the boats go by. Today, we just had tea-for-2 and toasted teacakes, but there is a good range of brunch options and light lunches. Tea comes with vintage bone china cups and saucers: a nice touch! The teacakes were tasty and came with jam (though I’m not sure how I feel about that - good butter is all that a good toasted tea cake needs 😂).
Service was prompt and friendly.
This was our second time here and we will definitely be back!
Edit April 23: returned this week and had the best Battenburg cake I’ve ever had, just delicious!

Lovely canal side cafe. Dog friendly!
Can eat inside or out. Its Bollington so get ready to pay a bit more for the usuals. That said. I often pop in for a coffee and a brekkie when in the area 👍

Characterful and buzzing cafe. In an impressive old mill building. The location next to the Macclesfield canal is attractive. And of course most importantly the food and drink is of a good standard

We were flagging at the end of a hot walk, and Cafe Riverside was like an Oasis in the desert....Had a refreshing smoothie, followed by probably the best prawn salad ever, and then more refreshment by means of a home made Lemonade....All perfect, as were the staff; The nice lady even offered to fill our water bottles for us!
We intend to return to Bollington, and will most definitely visit again to try more of the great looking stuff on their menu!

Lovely setting right next to the Macclesfield canal. Peaceful, idyllic spot to enjoy an alfresco lunch. Food is excellent, great coffee and cake to die for. Staff are amazing. Highly recommended.

Very nice full English breakfast, with friendly service. The place was packed, and we were very lucky to get the last table for two - at 10:50am on a Friday, that just shows how popular the place is!

I don't like egg or tomato but they are part of the breakfast for those interested (and I'm sorry to have taken a bite out of the sausage before I thought to take the picture!).

Lunch options looked terrific for later, too.

Well worth a visit 👍

Two small breakfasts. Great quality produce. My daughters fried egg was a little undercooked which she made a point of telling one of your staff. No problem she promptly brought a freshly cooked replacement. Lovely Coffee, and good service. We have been Three times now and enjoyed every visit.

Fabulous canal side cafe with delicious homemade food, we had the chicken wrap and falafel wrap followed by the clementine and almond cake which was lovely and moist😋. We found this wonderful cafe last year, end of July. It was so nice that we came back yday especially for lunch. We live near Chester. It was a lovely day out

Great place to go after a good walk along the canal. Food always excellent served by friendly staff. Had a 5 bean chilli and crusty bread, ideal on a cold day. My wife had eggs Benedict which she also enjoyed. I can definitely recommend the berry smoothie.

Great little cafe and such friendly service. All I wanted was a cuppa and my pot was a generous serving for £2.00. A really pleasant moment in the day as I read the paper and the mellow late afternoon sun came in.
