Great experience, comfortable beds, good service, good sized room and lovely food.

As you'd expect, the buzz from the pub was heard until about 11.30 but after that, was blissfully quiet and we would definitely stay again.

I spent 2 nights at the Forest Lodge Hotel last week and I was impress with the Excellent Customer Service by the team. Basically, I was care for. The food, drinks and overall service were great due to how they responded to my queries.

We have had several one-night stays here and it has always been good. The Christmas dinner and breakfast food and service were both excellent. This is a very old building with narrow stairs and corridors which has been renovated many times but our room was very comfortable, warm and clean. Coffee maker and tv etc. Service friendly and helpful. I understand that ownership is changing so will be interested to see any changes.

Just went for lunch with a big group - 2nd visit for my family. Great food, drinks and service. The sticky toffee sponge was outstanding - a large portion but the sponge was very light, plenty of toffee sauce so we had no problems at all in finishing it!!

Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Good choices on the breakfast and evening menus.

Had an amazing time here at the hotel. The room was lovely, and had a beautiful view of the moor.
My Boyfriend proposed to me in the restaurant after our meal and the staff were so lovely and accommodating, we can't thank them enough for such a fantastic experience. The receptionists were very friendly and easy to talk to, and had placed us in a nice room. The chef did a great job with the desserts and presentation of the big question. The waiter and waitress who brought it all over to the table were a delight and really made it feel more special with complimentary glasses of champagne and a complimentary bottle of wine on our second night. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely be visiting again soon. We had a great time in the pool, it was lovely and clean.

I have just attended our club meal at forest Lodge and I enjoyed every thing good food, good efficient service, the very friendly helpful staff put us all at ease, at last a place where they know what they are doing thank you from me the man with the wheel chair, I will be back👌🍷😎

We went there only for a quick lunch after a walk in the Sherwood forest and we found a fantastic atmosphere and nice food!

Lovely place, lovely staff.still has that local old pub feel with its eclectic bar decoration etc. To pricey to be a locals pub anymore £6 pint if guinness, nearly £4 for a small bucket containing 14 chips. Food and drink , although very good, is to expensive to have an "all nighter" well worth a visit if only so you can say you've been.

Did not have a room as local, but Sunday lunch again ....Wow just blown away with the new starter of Breaded Belly pork in breadcrumbs with a Thai curry style dressing ..awesome.

Main course Lamb Sunday dinner ..yet again you have starred.

Amazing place, the food is outstanding, best fish and chips I tried! The staff is so nice and the owner are really friendly. Highly recommend it !

Stayed here for one night while attending a wedding in the vicinity. Well pleased. Nice large car park at rear. Very pleasant and helpful owner and staff. Very nice and well equipped room on first floor approached by a narrow staircase. Excellent breakfast with a very good choice. Lovely old building with bags of character. Well recommended.

Ideally located within easy reach of sherwood forest. The forest Lodge is a good clean hotel. The smaller sized room was adequately supplied with on suite shower room etc, although the bed (very comfortable) was a bit snug for two larger people( very minor observation). If you are visiting the area its well worth stopping here to stay over.

First visit in 2023 and as always, perfect! Friendly, welcoming, my usual room (and I only stay 3-4 times per year). Food is excellent and the rooms are always very clean and well presented. Staff are polite and attentive. Highly recommended.

Nice traditional pub/hotel. The rooms are clean the food is spot on as is the beer. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. The staff are nice too.

If you're in the area, you must pay a visit. We had lunch in the bar. The food was excellent along with the service. The bar was very traditional, but when you looked closer, it became apparent that everything was immaculate. The staff obviously take pride in the place.

A beautiful hotel that was spotless. There is ample car parking. The bar is cosy serving a variety of beers, ciders, soft drinks, shorts and cocktails. We had a double room at the hotel and it was very comfortable with tea and coffee available. The room was beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a decent shower over the bath and complimentary toiletries. We had an evening meal and breakfast and could not fault either of them. The food was fresh and hot and very tasty. This is a popular place so book a table even if you are a guest at the hotel. We didn't realise this so we had a bit of a wait while a table became available, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks, the staff were great and we were happy. Its not the cheapest of places but in our opinion it was worth it.
The staff are excellent the attention to detail and the friendliness was lovely. Can't fault the hotel, bar, food or the hospitality will definitely return here.
