Castle Barge

Called in with a couple of mates, we were on the way home to Mansfield from Skegness. Nice day, so we got the bikes out for a blast, good ride and a great stop off on the way home. Friendly staff, plenty of seating area in and outside. We only had drinks, there were quite a few eating and the food looked very good. Well worth a visit, albeit on foot, cycling, out on the bikes or car there are always a few there.

Lovely place. Only went for a drink so can't rate the food but staff were friendly and who doesn't love a bar on a boat 🙃

We have visited Newark several times and I can't believe we've never discovered the Barge before,think it's absolutely brilliant,just my kind of place,will definitely be back to sample the food which I thought was very reasonably priced,congrats on a great idea 👍👍

We stopped here on our way to Hull and it was beautiful and so novel. We both had drinks and sat downstairs. Staff were really friendly and I only wished I lived nearer to frequent. Good size car park in front of the barge

My first time visiting this amazing place to eat with my mum. We had a tomato soup with a sandwich and wee treat for afterwards. Was so impressed with the boat and the other customers helping my mum which was nice. A great place to bring a dog as well. So would say go and visit this place instead.

Another iconic place in Newark! Take a stroll down the river Trent, visit the castle grounds then enjoy a beer in this cute, floating pub. They did a fab job with the outdoor seating and service is very friendly too !

Great place to have a drink and some food, great value food as well.

I haven’t had food here yet, but the coffee, real ales, service and atmosphere are all fantastic and I will keep returning for more! Looking forward to trying out quiz night one Wednesday evening too 😌

First time having some food at the castle barge I had the big bob burger my wife had the chicken burger it was cooked fresh nice and hot when it arrived friendly service great atmosphere was a pleasant experience 😁

An excellent place for Pizza and a beer. Ideal location. Proper food. Unique place to go. I really insist you go there coz it was and always has been good

It was interesting to be on a barge for a quick cuppa coffee and cake.
The young lady that served us with blonde hair and glasses gave us great customer service.

A fun venue, in a great location owned and run by lovely people!
They hosted and catered our wedding reception at short notice and we couldn't have had a better experience.
Frank (owner), Judy (manager) and their team were all lovely and bent over backwards to meet our needs before, during and after our reception and we wouldn't hesitate to return ourselves or recommend them to others.
Whatever the occasion The Castle Barge is a great venue that will make your guests smile...even if you're just popping in for a drink...we'll definitely be back.

Been using this place on and off for years and now it’s getting too pricey for a truck driver at £4.70 a pint for Guinness. The days of 50p off a pint for drivers has gone. Still a great place to come if you’ve never been before 👍

A lovely peaceful location all staff were friendly excellent view over the river we didn't have any food the coffee was lovely and very well priced. I will definitely go back again.

Popped in twice over a weekend in Newark. Evening menu was reduced to pizzas but this was perfect with drinks. Ale selection was a bit limited was what was on offer was good. Mind the stairs up and down to the bar!

Rocked up in a coach everyone was served quickly , beautiful spot just a lovely end to a great holiday 😀
