A very good place for a day out. £7 entry for adults. Lovely gardens with lots of different paths so you don't keep walking around with other people. There are different points of interest in the gardens to keep it interesting. The talk about the water powered cuckoo clock at 10 to of every hour is definitely worth listening to and then seeing the world's only water powered cuckoo clock in action on the hour. The cafe served good food for lunch. The cakes and quiches looked homemade and the service was good and pleasant.

Packed with interest, we really enjoyed our visit.
The gardens are gorgeous, there's so much really beautiful planting to see. And the bog garden was spectacular at this time of year.
Surrounded by leats and streams, there's water everywhere.
There are follies, each one so delightful, interesting and really quite clever, too.
Richard Pim is the originator of all of this, but the new owners are clearly very enthusiastic fans and have worked incredibly hard to maintain, and dare I say, possibly improved the gardens.
A wonderful place to visit for everyone.

Great place , adults £7 , children £3. The family run small cottage cafe was brilliant ; can not fault the food. Local produce , vegetarian option of sandwich’s and panini. Lovely local tea served the old traditional way . Beautiful garden with a windmill water stream . Lovely surroundings with butterflies.

Have to say this is a hidden gem of a place...the cafe and service was excellent great selection of home made cakes and savoury options.Easy access.from carpark for anyone struggling with disabilities and plenty of seating in and out. The garden setting with the stream and croquet lawn make it a great place to stop on a journey as well as a day out drive option.

A really good place to visit, for its beautiful gardens, fascinating follies, but, most of all, its wonderful tea room. Beautiful food, wonderful cakes and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

An absolutely amazing place to visit! Stunning water gardens with flowing natural planting, incorporating both wildflowers and cultivated plants. Many paths to explore, and three fabulous follies en route, the water powered cuckoo clock being a stunning example of engineering excellence, with the owners passionate presentation bringing to life the history & workings of the clock . Not to mention the lovely cafe serving excellent sandwiches and cakes with a smile to brighten anyone's day! (Cafe accessible even if you don't want to visit the gardens). We look forward to visiting here next time we are in the area 😊

Gorgeous place. Thanks to the owners for keeping it wild yet wonderful with passion and kindness. Loved the cuckoo clock and the bottle dome, but most of all the driftwood horse and wild meadows. Thank you. Fabulous cafe filled with home cooked delights, too. x

Always delights!
Really pleased that new owners are lovely and keeping the gardens open. Their benches additions are wonderful as allow you to stop, sit, and take in the beauty for longer. Thank you.
Introduced a newcomer who was enthralled, so will also return.
Tea room aims to please and does!

Absolutely stunning 😍 Stopped here for lunch. The staff were so so helpful despite being run off their feet! Then went around the gardens. They were beautiful and there was great variety. Well worth the ticket price. Definitely go if you can.

This is the first time I have visited a garden where the main theme is water. Set out over 5 acres, it's not a huge area to wander through, but every inch has been beautifully thought out.
You have streams, a canal, meandering waterways wherever you look, a bog garden & much more to feast the eye on. Three follies add a quirkiness, you must sit in the bottle folly & don't stray far from the cuckoo clock as it nears the hour!
Take your time when walking around, as this is a place to be savoured & you don't want to miss a thing. There are plenty of benches where one can sit & take in the beauty of the surroundings.
Of course, no trip would be complete without indulging in the joy that is homemade cake & a cup of tea. There's something rather wonderful about drinking tea from a pretty china cup on a beautiful sunny day, whilst savouring a delicious slice of cake. A delightful way to end your visit before making the journey home. 😊

Such a beautiful place! We ate in the cafe first, great service and lovely food well presented and good value too.
The gardens are just stunning and so well thought out, lots of little hidden bits, different levels and the water spaces are just idyllic! Perfect for all ages - our party ranged from ages 3-80! 😊

Gorgeous gardens! We had a lovely walk around and we were even allowed to bring the dogs! The Bottle Grotto was unbelievably beautiful and the cafe was absolutely fantastic. The staff were friendly, the food arrived quickly and it was delicious. We had homemade chicken pie and then we shared some apple pie and custard.

Lovely little garden 🪴 We visited at the start of May following lockdown rules in the UK being relaxed. The garden and tea room were both open, welcoming visitors to enjoy what is a pretty garden.

The garden is of a reasonable size, upon entering next the the cafe it continues back quite a long way. There is a mix of water garden and more open grass areas with interesting planting and use of structure.

With a visit at anytime of the year 👍
