Too busy to book a table for curry night but our lovely landlady sorted us out with a takeaway box ☺. Fantastic food and fantastic service, lovely cheery barmaid Kris. Definitely coming back but will know to book in advance, great night again 🤗

Very good ales and the chicken curry was very tasty. Just what we both needed after a long day of walking. Friendly service too.

Outstanding food.. all meats cooked to perfection with plenty of veg available and a reasonable price for the amount of food you got. The staff and locals were extremely friendly and inviting.. but above all if you want to take your four legged friend with you to a pub..take them here!. They cater for your dogs with little tubs of left over meats from the kitchen and they are free to all run around the pub garden together and have lots of fun while you eat. We will be back again sometime. Thank you 😊

A lovely traditional old pub with an open fire, good food, excellent beer and friendly staff and locals, there is also an attractive beer garden to the rear although we didn't make use of it as it's a bit cold at this time of year. Our twin room was spacious and comfortable.

We stopped here and it's a great local pub with very good real ale on tap. The room was clean if a little basic, but the bed was very comfortable and we had an absolute fantastic full english breakfast the next day, freshly cooked with top quality ingredients. The landlady was very helpful and friendly making us feel very welcome and the locals were great too. We'd stop there again

Lovely, friendly pub and staff. Love the feel of a real old fashioned pub with bar, lounge and restaurant. Beer garden is big and very pretty. My son told me that I have to visit this lovely pub. He was on an Offa's Dyke walk. I'm so glad to have visited.

Popped in for a quick drink and it really cheered me up. The locals were very friendly and so were their dogs. This is a truly dog friendly pub.

Friendly, helpful staff; comfortable, characterful room; great food with substantial portions (I was too full to try their desserts!); excellent value for money.

Joe, the landlord was very welcoming, as were were the regulars. I popped in just after 5pm, so the bar was abuzz with chat from several punters who had nipped in after work.

I drank some well-kept pints of real ale. There seemed to be lots of spirits to choose from if you're so inclined.

The garden is wonderful this time of year. The building is very old and characterful; has an interesting history, which the landlord was more than happy to tell me about.

Just popped in for a last drink of the night with the lads whilst on a walking trip. No Guinness on but great choice of ales and everything else.
I opted for a soft drink, but once we'd sat down, landlady nipped across the road and bought a pint of Guinness from neighbouring pub and sold it to me at the same price she'd bought it.
What an amazingly kind gesture.
Definitely recommend this pub great atmosphere and customers and one amazing landlady.
Wish it was my local.......
