The Earth's Crust Bakery

Picked up some goodies here for a picnic. The only problem was that the olive & cheese twist we bought looked so delicious, it ended being eaten as soon as we left the shop and didn't make it to the picnic! If I lived locally, definitely a place I would frequently visit.

Such a great place to visit. A wide range of vegan products are on sale here, as well as hot drinks and cakes - the vegan chocolate cake is especially delicious! We were too late to buy any bread - they’d sold out, but did have some frozen loafs on offer. If you’re passing by, you should definitely drop in.

My favourite bakery in Dumfries & Galloway. It’s named as one of Europe’s best bakeries. The bread and pastries are amazing.

A magical little spot tucked away in Castle Douglas. Lots to choose from - breads, pastry and savoury bakes. All wonderful and freshly baked. The cinnamon danish made our morning 💚 fresh milk and great coffee too. Worth a visit if you like really good baking!

Amazing wee gem with great bakery products and lovely staff. It would be a shame to miss it.

First visit this morning. Fresh delights still being pulled from the oven and it was really hard to choose. Currently enjoying a delicious, generously fruited pain au raisin. Warm homity pies to look forward to for lunch and a pain de campagne to meet our basic needs. Good range of flour and other groceries plus a milk machine. Every community needs a bakery like this.

There are many bakeries in Castle Douglas but Earth's Crust make the highest quality products. There is not a huge range but it is quality over quantity here. Also a nice range of drinks, coffee beans, and a refillable milk machine. A small sitting area is available outside.

we found this fabulous bakery while on holiday. We had quality baked bread on 3 different days , the loafs were all fantastic, our favourite was the honey and walnut sour dough bread. Along with various deserts which again was just lovely. We also tried a garlic and pork sausage roll which was a taste sensation just wow. Can't recommend this bakery enough. if you care about what you eat and want quality then come here. can't wait to return

Went in for a loaf of bread, but bought much more, a feast for the eyes and stomach, recommend if visiting Castle Douglas, off the High Street opposite side to clock tower.

Lots of nice foodie bits in the deli section (fab smoked almonds!) plus fresh milk refills. We got pizzas on a Friday night, the bases were excellent and the toppings plentiful!

Wow, what a hidden gem.

Came here after being served their sour dough warm in Mr Pooks Kitchen on the hight street.

Bought the most delicious Rosemary Focaccia, bakes cheese cake, lemon tart and lamb sausage roll type of thing.

They also serve local coffee and have a selection of deli style products.

Great place to get bread etc we got foccaccia which was amazing plus a treacle and almond tart Wow so tasty well worth a visit if you are in the area 😋

Brilliantly rustic bakery, fresh bread, cakes, pastries with a variety or different fillings that change daily. Also a variety of snacks and fine foods. Also a good selection off take out hot drinks, very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit....

Can't rate this place high enough. The carefully sourced ingredients, the preparation and presentation all 10/10.
Good coffee and cakes. Relaxed place to sit and chill. Well worth making the effort to visit, you won't be disappointed

Delicious food and friendly, helpful staff. We love this place! The focaccias are amazing. This is our second visit - had the soup and focaccia both times - yum! The cakes & tarts are also a must!

Just visited the Earth's Crust for a snappy sit bite to eat. A slice of pizza and an americano.
As always friendly service. Food up to normal high standards and coffee top drawer hot and very tasty.

Really good breads delicious flans and quiches for a light lunch. They also do great coffee. It's not a very smart dining area though!

Absolutely the best bakery you will ever visit. Pain au Chocolat is to die for, all the bread is wonderful, focaccia is a must. Also serve good coffee and excellent cakes.
