We had 5 x canvases framed, 2 x were large 1.2 square, the others smaller. Jonathan was very thorough at the consultation. We had all the paintings framed with a ‘flag gap’ frame for a contemporary appearance. Jonathan said the framing would be complete in a month and he delivered inside this programme. We are delighted. OPS was recommended to us by a professional artist. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jonathan very highly.

He was very helpful and professional throughout - he guided us on the frame size and options without pressuring us to go for a certain style or price bracket. From start to finish Jon has provided us with a first class service. My requirement was to have framed two antique golf clubs made by my Grandfather about a century ago and to include a photo and a brief biography..Jon's experience and advice ensured the right choice of materials for the frame, and his expertise in making the frame and mounting the clubs to show them to their best advantage, means that we have something that not only looks good on the wall, but also will stay in our family as a reminder of a very talented man. Managed to spill tea into some expensive artwork.
Luckily, just the inner frames and Mount got ruined, but it’s was one of three piece’s and needed to be replaced like-for-like.

Jon is a fantastic framer. I’ve used him over the years, either for my own work or things I’ve bought, and found that he’s miles ahead of the rest. His workmanship is outstanding and the consultative/pre-framing process really does get the best outcome. I’ve tried other framers but the quality of frames is nowhere as good. I’ve had one white frame that Jon DIDN’T do that yellowed, and another framer that left a hair trapped in there! You wouldn’t get that with Otters Pool. I think Jon would agree that he’s not the cheapest, but I’ve used cheaper - and yellowing frames and trapped hairs is what I got! You really do get what you pay for with Jon and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

We were delighted today when we went to collect our beautifully framed painting. We had an idea of the frame we wanted, but were offered lots of advice when we arranged an appointment to choose it down to the best glass to use. The frame has been crafted beautifully and we would not hesitate to recommend Otters Pool Studios. The professional advice and eye for detail all add to the service.

I bought a print for my wife which I needed to be framed, but wanted the frame to match one on a previous print I had bought from Whitewall Galleries. Sadly, Whitewall couldn't frame the print for me (for insurance reasons), but recommended me to Jon At Otters Pool Studios. What an excellent recommendation!

Unfortunately, Jon couldn't match the frame, but Whitewall agreed to sell me a matching frame. Jon collected the frame from Guildford for me, and did an amazing job to match the mounts. I took the print over to him and he mounted it in the frame while I waited and we chatted. The time zoomed past and we came away with the mounted print in the frame, all professionally wrapped for me to give to my wife.

Jon framed 2 jigsaw puzzles that I made. They were very dear to me. The result was stunning. We talked for 1 hour to agree on the frame and addings to insert which would give some depth to the jigsaws. Jon is very professional, expert in his field and offer good advice. When it comes to framing, Jon is a magician. Over the years I have had 6 large frames completed by Otters Pool Studio - and there is nowhere I would ever go again. The craftmanship, quality and durability is first class. Communications (despite a global pandemic) has always been excellent and when describing what you want, Jon will always give his honest and professional opinion/advice. Quite simply, he is a master of his craft.

I contacted Jon for advice on framing one print and a technical drawing of an engine block. The print was straight forward but the technical drawing was slightly more challenging, given the size and layout. I did not want to lose the draftsman's details from the lower right hand of the drawing. Jon and I chatted about folding over the last quarter of the drawing and replicating the drafting details.
The result is perfect, Jon replicated and added the detail in a small window in the bottom right of the frame, which was far more than I expected.
