Harbour Cottage Gallery

We took part in the Arts and Crafts Taster for a week. There is usually an exhibition of the work of local artists where you can buy paintings, prints, cards and pottery etc. It's in a lovely location right by the harbour (yes, the name gives it away).

The prettiest gallery in Scotland and beautifully located on the harbour. Exhibitions are varied and change frequently often presenting the work of local artists and craftsmen. The gallery has an interesting history too having been saved from demolition in the 1950’s by the town’s artist community.

Nice little gallery. Local work much in evidence. There are bargains to be had here. Prices are very reasonable for quite accomplished pieces in contrast to many big city galleries.

A bright and airy little art gallery that occupies two floors of an 18th century fisherman's cottage between MacLellan's Castle and the harbour. It's free to enter. Was only on a very short visit to Kirkcudbright but I enjoyed the half-hour I spent looking around the autumn exhibition. The people who work here were really welcoming and the paintings and drawings by mainly local artists were beautifully displayed. I especially liked the seascapes and local scenes. There were also a few crafts and some nice postcards. Great harbour views from the upstairs window too! Well worth a visit.

Great little gallery by the harbour, pictures on display change regularly and most can be purchased.

Such a vital part of the town with quality exhibitions ranging from local amateur to Glasgow Masters. Friendly, free and dog-welcoming, a definite destination for visitors to Kirkcudbright

A delightful small gallery, with free entrance, interesting exhibits and nice people. Superb location in Kirkcudbright. Even the outside is a picture in itself.

I was gallery sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it. Pictures are well displayed. Lots of folk come in to look around. Location is excellent. Some bits of the ceiling are on the low side so take care if you are tall.

Visited the Chris Fergusson and Nan Fergusson exhibition. Wonderful to see so many of their paintings in one space. Also lovely to meet their descendants

The Harbour Cottage Gallery ,once a traditional fishermans cottage on the quayside in Kirkcudbright has an interesting history. This charming cottage now provides the space for a light and airy Gallery which showcases the work of the many talented local artists and crafts people in the area . It proves over and over again a great place to begin a visit to the 'Artists' town.'

The present Summer Exhibition is an eclectic mix of media,style and subject. You will thoroughly enjoy your visit as we did! The exhibition is open daily from 10.00am -5pm from July 6th- August 8th

Very quaint location next to harbour and beautiful selection of seascapes and other paintings.

Excellent variety of lovely locally made items. I very helpful and talented young lady who helped us.

Lovely friendly knowledgable staff. Shows local artists work covering many different styles of work, always interesting and worth a visit.
