Elan Valley

Excellent place for walking, riding, cycling. There are 9 walking trails with moderate, strenuous and easy levels. Historic dams and reservoirs. Beautiful scenery, woodlands, fields with well marked trails. Cafe, toilet, gifts shop facilities in the visitor centre. Parking charges applies( in visitor centre parking) around £3.

Great place to visit for just a drive, numerous walks for the beginner up to the experienced, visitors centre, cafe or children's park. Your views and scenery change daily with the seasons with new views every visit. I love spotting the resident cows

Huge monoliths that jut out of the green landscape these dams are a marvel of engineering ..There's quite a few of them and worth a visit ...

Even on the wettest of summer days, a wonderful walk through Elan Valley is just the ticket!!

Great place to visit, there are some great walks around the reservoirs if you have the time. The water levels are really low showing the vast expanse of the reservoirs. There is also some great cover in the woods to keep out of the sun.

Some lovely scenery and long windy roads through the valley. Beautiful and remote once you get on some trails. We walked the Ancient road that runs East to West from Strata Florida to Rhayder. The walk was stunning taking in some views of the Wye Valley and beyond. If your a hardy walker or pilgrim this route is well worth the trouble.

Incredible scenery, great area for walking but all the dams can be driven to and viewed, plentiful parking at relevant spots.
