There is a very interesting exhibition about Gatehouse History and surrounding Area with a wonderful model of this lovely village.
There are a stunning and very beautiful Arts and Crafts goods sold on the top floor, from the wonderful artist in the area and an awesome second hand book store!
On the ground floor you'll find the lovely cafe and you xan sit inside or outside by the Fleet River.
We love to visit here, when ever we're in the area.

Beautiful building with cafe, gallery with local arts and crafts, bookshop and lots of local history about the area with children's activities such as dressing up or making wool! Working models of water wheels etc too. There is lift to the upper floors. Nice outside seating for cafe. Toilets. free parking near by. Nice cakes in the cafe!

Worth a visit. You can fill your belly with good food (carrot cake is especially nice) from the cafe downstairs and visit the gallery, book shop and learn quite a lot about local history upstairs. There's also a tourist information there with leaflets, walking trails etc. Also, a detailed map/model of Gatehouse of Fleet. The galery features arts and crafts made by the local artists. We were there soon after they reopened after the lockdown and they only served cakes, scones and tea and coffee. Staff are nice. Toilets are clean. John Watt's coffee seems to be popular in the area. You need to decide whether it's to your taste or not. Seats are available inside and out. On a nice day it's nice to sit outside. River Fleet runs right by the mill and there's plenty of wildlife too.

Now converted into a museum, information centre, and second hand book store. The Mrs. would still be in the old book section, if we didn't have somewhere else to be that day.

Small but interesting. I learned more about my history that I was unaware of. A well set out building both inside and out.

Enjoyed a short visit to Mill On The Fleet. The museum is a striking example of an eighteenth century water powered, stone built, cotton mill. The mill was constructed not long after the pioneering Arkwright's Mill in Derbyshire. It houses a museum, bookshop, art gallery and coffee shop. The coffee shop staff are very welcoming as well as knowledgeable about the history of the area. Worth a detour to visit the mill and explore the village.

Great museum/exhibition of the local area with lots of historical information, very unique bookstore on the top floor with a wide range of books from new to old. The cafe is decent (have had drinks/snacks from there multiple times over the years.) and only a tad pricey.

Popped into the Mill just to get information from Tourist Info, ended up staying for a couple of hours going through all the village history and associated area and industrial heritage.
