I absolutely loved this castle and gardens. It may be my favourite national trust castle. Absolutely wonderful gardens full of rhododendrons, fantastic preserved interior of the castle, and vast territories. You can enjoy icecream (barra bryth flavour!) at the entrance, or take a bite in a cafe with a beauty view down the gardens. There are a lot of different points of interest which you are encouraged to discover so I recommend taking a full day to explore this place. It has toilets by the entrance and shuttle stop and a little shop with drinks at the bottom of the gardens. It’s a big territory but it is wheelchair and pram accessible so it caters to everyone. A huge beautiful forest is open to all to roam and find the ponds, lakes and multiple cosy spots.

Busy little cafe , friendly staff.
Has inside seating as well as tables and chairs outside & if your lucky , a peacock 🦚 displaying.
