I went to The Battlefield line today with my 2 daughters and my nearly 2 years old granddaughter for a ride on a steam locomotive, we also had a bacon cob at Shackerstone Station cafe and it was as nice a cob as i have had, certainly from some entertainment venues but this hit the spot, we also had a look around the fund raising shop and got a pepoa pig game for £3 my Granddaughter loved it, we also went in the shop and got some souvenirs before another enjoyable steam locomotive ride back to Shenton, lovely weather, friendly staff and a great days adventure for my toddler granddaughter, i have visited the line numerous times as it is just about 4 miles from home and it was great to see a healthy crowd of people also enjoying their bank holiday

Clean, tidy and great location for the steam trains and for access to the walks around Bosworth Battle site and Heritage centre. Friendly staff and a simple but very welcome cafe on site. Parking is pay only but good value for money and usually circa £2.50 for the whole day. Close access to the canal also for walks.

Went for a nice relaxed dog walk. Parked in Shenton Station car park. £2.50 all day parking. Had a cheeky bacon cob with a cup of coffee (It was an instant coffee, rather than one of those fancy type coffees) when at the station. Staff very friendly. Will visit again.

Wonderfully preserved Victorian railway station. The cafe is a great place for a snack during a walk/cycle with the added bonus of being able to watch the trains!

This is the very pretty, rural, southern end of the Battlefield Line with incredibly convincing station buildings which we understand were sourced from elsewhere in the County and rebuilt here, brick by brick. It's lovely!

It's always great to walk down to Shenton Station from Sutton Cheney Wharf. You can either walk down the canal towpath and cross the old railway bridge and walk up the old railway track bed to the Station, or, walk through Ambion Wood and pass Bosworth Battlefield on the way down to Shenton Station. The Station area is clean and tidy, it has a decent car park, toilets, a cafe, ticket office and a glass blowing centre. According to the seasonal timetables the trains run to and from Shackerstone Station, passing through Market Bosworth Station. It is known as the Battlefield Line.

The bacon butties from here are in the top ten I've ever had! All whilst watching steam trains. Great walking from this area too.
