A very calm and quiet church. It is small, located by the cobbled road which hosts a number of places with historical significance. The walk from the town centre and climbing the hill through the cobbled stones road feels like walking bacjk in time. The priest there was very welcoming and warm. Will visit again.

Calm and peaceful. Looking at the tower and then walking in here is like being transported to Italy or Spain, where such churches are commonplace

Lovely smallish church, very calm and peaceful atmosphere.
We enjoyed looking around and sitting quietly for a while away from the town which was very busy on a hot sunny summers day.

An exquisite church built in Spanish-Romanesque style. A church of pre-reformation England, the Church of St. Augustine, sent in 596AD to convert the Anglo-Saxons; the Church of St Thomas a Beckett, Archbishop of Canterbury, martyred inside his Cathedral in 1170AD. Everything about this Church reflects the history of the re-emergence of Catholicism after three hundred years of suppression. It is beautiful in every respect with an especially remarkable rood cross and marble altar and surrounds.

Always pop in here when I'm in Rye. It's very small in a cobbled road. Inside is so peaceful. I like to light a candle and say a prayer for family, friends and the whole world, gaia. It's like a reset button. I come out feeling rested and peaceful.
