Just love this church. Stunning modern stained glass windows. Beautiful old church with lots of interesting tombs.

This church dates back to the beginning of Winchelsea new town, around 1280 ?
Some of the church was destroyed as a result of the French sacking the town, hence it's ruined appearance.
Some tombs inside the church were featured in paintings by pre Raphaelite artists, if you look closely at the pillars you will find images of old sailing vessels, etched into the stone centuries ago.
Spike Milligan is buried in the grave yard.
An excellent place to visit.

Visited on a lovely sunny day, the Church and the grounds drew me in. First walked around grounds, it was like stepping back in time. Then ventured inside church. Very peaceful, I could feel God's presence. I left feeling very peaceful and calm.

It is a beautiful very well kept graveyard and both my parents are now at peace here in the graveyard they chose it specially as it is so tranquil and often the sun shines through the entire graveyard.. stunning church also for weddings my twin sister got married here so lots of happy memories .

Eine tolle Kirche, auf die das zutrifft, was man über die Tardis sagt: Von innen größer als von außen. Ein Abstecher lohnt sich. Wir waren vor allem von den schönen, bieten Kirchenfenstern angetan. Auch die Hinweise zu bekannten Gräbern (Spike Milligan!) und seltenen Pflanzen aus Greater Dixter solltenman sich durchlesen.
