Visited again to do the Ludlow Parkrun, and a walk afterwards. The car park is free, although there are no toilet facilities or cafe around here. Some paths can be very muddy when wet, so take boots or decent footwear. The paths meander through the trees with changing ascents and descents, making for a pleasant walk.

Best bit of Mortimers forest for me with fantastic views from the top 🌲

Great carpark with several options of trails, we chose to go straight to the top, taking the left fork from main track. Quite muddy but dogs loved it. Fantastic views in quite a short distance 360 degree mountain and rolling hills. Could just see for miles. Nice bench at top to have a drink at. Gentle downhill through the forest passing a few small pools and one at bottom with another nice bench. Very muddy at bottom especially where they are logging.
Loved it, will be back soon.
