The room was very homely and spacious. You can see they're spending money improving what was once a beautiful building. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Thought it was great for the price and would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget. Good luck for the future guys. Michelle and Darren from Luton

Where do I start? The person that left a big review saying don't stop here got a budget room that's why they got no TV and rubbish bed, etc. When I arrived with my wife it looked OK on the outside and yes there isn't much room in the car park but we never had any problems parking our car whatever time we got back.Yes, it is cheap but I wouldn't complain about that the staff were friendly and even though we only paid £135 for three nights, we got a lovely bedroom with a TV,a big double bed that was comfortable and a bathroom that may not have had a bath but it had a modern clean shower in perfect working order.Alright the TV was a bit difficult to hear as somebody had set it up wrong but after several minutes of fiddling with it I had it fixed and it was superb I've never seen such a variety of channels! We also had a dressing table and wardrobe with six coathangers can't be bad. Also the full cooked breakfast in the morning - bacon, sausage, egg, tomatoes and mushrooms with toast - superb, served by the ever friendly landlady - who told us where to go on several occasions - with regard to nice places to visit in the local area - as it is lovely round Leominster. When we go on holiday in Herefordshire next year we'll certainly come back here

Where to begin.... to start i would advise anyone who has stayed in a moderatly decent hotel to avoid this one, to avoid serious dissapointment.
Entire impression of the exterior is...... run down. Car park has room for about 8 or 9 cars max, but most of these seem to be filled with builders, repair etc etc vans for most of the day.
Health and safety nightmare of cheapo rotting decking on entry to the "hotel" from the carpark, if this is wet beware. On entry the boss was having a row with his misses in front of staff and customers alike, gave me that warm glow u need after a long drive ....and made me miss my own strife, sigh.
Anyway i eventually got a key and was charged up front for payment.
Anyway onto the worst bit, the rooms and service, i shall bullet point these for ease of reference:

1: TV was from the stoneage limited channels, DVD player lol for those who bring a selection with them???

2: Electric sockets/switches were loose or attached with tape, electric shock hazard

3: Towels not changed at all during my stay, small and tatty towels, u wont want to steal these puppies!!

4: Bed linen not changed either during my stay.

5: Bins were not emptied.

6: meager tea/coffee supply not restocked

7: Basically i didnt have the room cleaned once during my stay.
8: Noise from the downstairs locals bar excessive. (and thats with my valve tv on)

9: Tried to have a bath......dont bother, luke warm is as good as it gets.

10: Shower is one of the new super dribble ones......again dont bother unless u like spending ages in the shower trying to get wet.

11: Staff who spoke to me where more than happy to tell me how bad the place, pay and conditions where, which is always a good sign when checking in!!!

12: I think a blind man has decorated the whole place using his dog as the brush.

13: Beds/furniture look like they came off a tip. Bad sleep everynight.

14: room was not cleaned/hovered during stay.

14: Place has bad karma.........reminded me of the that film with Jack Nicholas in it....:(........rrrrrrreeeeeedddddrrrruuuummmmmmm

Marks out of 10.....its in minus figures all, i would honestly prefer a basha than stay there again.

I really could go on and on about how bad this place is, but u really need to get the experience yourself to believe this place lol.

Well, where do I begin?! Firstly the owner who greeted us was rather rude. As we went up to our room, we observed that it smelt, the ceiling was cracked in various places and was even falling in! Once we got to our room, the door looked as though it had been repeatedly kicked, punched and god knows what else! I sat on the bed, there might as well not have been a mattress on there as all I could feel was the wood from the bed frame. Hardly any toilet roll, dirty mats on the floor, NO hot water from the shower or the tap. The fire alarm went off twice at 3am and there was also a lot of noise from people leaving the pub. The car park looked like a bomb had hit it. We were also made to feel rather uncomfortable because of the way we dress (gothic) this is something the manager seemed to have a problem with as my partner was wearing a rather gothic jumper when we checked in. When we checked out, there was no one to take the key so we had to pass it through the kitchen window. Customer service is an absolute disgrace! The highlight of our stay at this 'Hotel' was that there was an amazing authentic Italian restaurant called Milano - being Italian myself I pride myself on knowing good quality Italian food :) So in short don't stay here! Even a Dung Beetle would have been offended by the smell and they eat/live in poo!

2 nights in July 2017. Don't touch this place with a barge pole! On arrival told we should have been contacted as it was over-booked. WE WEREN'T. We were told debit card was declined! Payment wasn't even requested! Print out said pay at Royal Oak. Was paying cash. Just as well as card payment couldn't be taken. Taken to room and had to sign a waiver on spot to say it was okay. Don't look behind the headboard of the bed. You could write your name in the dirt! Pillows on bed were very thin and lumpy. The TV had ITV channel 5 and all the porn channels! The noise from the street all night was unbelievable. There is no food at this hotel and personally the clientele was rough. This is not a Hotel. It's a run down pub with rooms, dirty carpets, wobbly stair bannisters and wonky floor boards.

The 5 star review is a fake. There is no landlady, no breakfast service available nor any "budget" rooms etc in this disgusting hole that calls itself a hotel. At best it is a run down pub, with run down rooms above it. Cheap yes, acceptable in this day and age no. The hilarity starts the moment you "check in", which means being greeted by a fat bald thug barman who fancies himself a gangster wheeler dealer, trying to sell his many successful businesses all your stay. Then you have to pay up front.. because no sane person would part with cash following a night here. Then there's the rooms. Actually sod this... no review is going to sum up the way you feel dirty and ill after staying here. You should go and stay. just for the experience... after this.. every hotel you visit will seem like a 5 star. Just disenfect yourself after and pre book a counselling session.
