The Bike Fitting Room

I stepped up my road riding to prepare for the 112 mile ‘Fred Whitton’ this year. I’ve had my bike for years without serious issue but had a bit of back ache and knee twinge while training and thought I’d try a pro bike fit for the first time.

Carl took me through the process which seemed very pedantic, but I guess that’s the whole point. I honestly didn’t have particular expectations for results but since then I’ve done the route over 2 days (training) and 1 day (event) without any kind of ache or twinge at all- I’m amazed and reassured that I’m not putting my body at risk of injury while doing those distances.

100% worth the value. I have recently got in to cycling and Carl has helped not only understand my bike but the way it should be ridden. I am incredibly happy with the fit and could not recommend it high enough. No matter your level you will get tremendous value from Carl. It is a very, welcoming environment and communicates exceptionally well.

Carl set up my touring bike before I cycled 2000 miles from Canada to Mexico. The bike fit made a huge difference and gave me no discomfort the entire ride. Also he had to cancel my first appointment at short notice but rearrange it straight away and nocked some money off the fitting. Highly recommended getting a fitting and also can't fault the customer service.

Superb service from Carl made all the necessary adjustment to my bike and shoes, nothing was too much trouble. I could feel the difference in the amount of effort required to pedal immediately, he also gave me some great advice, and was excellent value for money. I cannot recommend Carl and the Bike Fitting Room highly enough, 10 out of 10 for the service I recieved.

I found Carl on Google. I was torn at first as there are so many on offer locally, but finally opted for the Bike Fitting Room. What a stroke of luck it turned out to be. Having only been cycling a coulple of months and still riding on flat pedals and trainers, I was experiencing horrendous pain in both knees which stopped me riding for 3 weeks, it was beginning to deter me from cycling. I gave Carl the brief and thankfully he accepted the challenge. So mid Sept I rock up with gleaming new SPD pedals, Shoes and cleats! During the fitting Carl not only offered me copious amounts of advice and tips but was brilliant as I got to grips with learning to clip in and out, he also completely understood my inexperience and was fantastic throughout.
Tonight (11th Oct) I passed the 300 mile mark since the fitting and have experienced absolutely no pain what so ever. I'm enjoying every minute I spend on my bike (excluding the weather and steep assents). If anyone is trying to decide on a Bike Fitting I would highly recommend Carl and the Bike Fitting Room.
Also a recommendation for King Kog cycles where Carl is based who helped me with an issue I had with my bike when they really didn't have too.

Excellent friendly service, bike feels far more comfortable and efficient. Throughout the bike fit everything was explained in detail. Carl's experience was clear to see, and the information given made perfect sense. I would certainly recommend this service and will use this service again when required.

I had the level 1 bike fit done at the Ramsbottom shop a few weeks ago. I had been suffering with the usual lower back / numb hands combo off and on for ages. Carl obviously knows his craft and the day after the first ride to work was a lot more comfortable.
I have held off leaving a review until I put the bike through a tougher test. Rode the coast to coast, Hadrians cycle route this weekend and no numb hands all the way. Back is great this morning too! Cheers Carl.

We use The Bike Fitting room service frequently as my partner does triathlons and races. Carl is really helpful and enthusiastic and knows lots of helpful contacts if you want to take your racing or cycling to the next level.

Brilliant help from Carl. He is knowledgeable & enthusiastic. He has the tools & technology to identify your correct riding position and on location stems / handlebars to dynamically adjust as he works through the session with you. Worth knowing he competes in triathlons so that intimately understands the necessity of a great fit.

Training for triathlons I had often found myself with small niggles (knee, lower back), since my bike fit at the start of the season I have had no trouble at all.

Great service as always! More aero, with no comfort sacrificed as a result of a great fit. First ride out since was refitted this afternoon, and smashed 27 Strava PB's over a route i'd done more than 30 times. Stats don't lie!

Great service and I didn't know it was possible to be this comfortable on my bike. The bike fit has made a sizeable improvement to my cycling. Highly recommended!

I went to.the bike.fitting room and received a first rate service ., I would.recommend to.anybody

The fit was good though difficult due to confusion with the address - no longer in Prestwich. Unfortunately Carl has not responded to any of my emails afterwards so I won't be using them again. Annoying given promise of being able to set up other bikes.

Owner annoyed for calling them during the working hours (Sunday 7:30pm) and hang up.
