Went to Black Swan for a couple of relaxing afternoon drinks. Definitely recommend as great beers and friendly barman who gave us complimentary experimental drinks to try, rather than throw them. Definitely be back to try the food as menu looked good too

A stunning pub, nestled in beautiful Ashover. Dean & Dave are breathing new life into The Swan, with a great menu, scrumptious food & a warm atmosphere. The grilled cheese sandwich was by far the best I have tasted. Our dog was made so welcome and friendly service made this lunch visit something we strongly recommend. 5*

A village pub with high standards and a great selection of local gins. The barman / owner was friendly and informative and the locals wished us goodbye as we left. We'll definately return for a meal and more atmosphere.

Under new ownership and a excellent chef, with Stephen at the helm you cannot go far wrong. Great variety of food, catering for all meat eaters, vegetarian and vegans alike. Lovely belly pork and a plant burger worth making the short trip from Wingerworth. Really nice to have fresh homemade food.

Called in here on our way glamping with our very playful puppy. We was going to sit outside due to us having the dog but the staff were insistent to bring him in from the not very nice weather. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing that he laid down and was such a good boy! The added dog treats were a bonus.

Absolutely chaming pub and restaurant nestled in Andover with incredible hearty and warming but beautifully presented food. We were warmly welcomed, seated and attended to. The food was incredible, the garlic soup is perfect on a chilly day, the leek and gammon pie was delicious (full of gammon!), the btl and chips was enough to fill the hungriest tummy, the trillionaire tart was divine and the sundae was the cherry on the cake. Thank you to David, Dean and Lucas for the hospitality. We'll be back.

Very good food and good sized portions. It’s perhaps a little more expensive than typical “pub grub” in the area - but definitely value for money. Lovely, friendly staff - couldn’t do enough to help.

We recently had dinner as a family of 14 upstairs in the restaurant and everything was great. The chef was working alone and somehow managed to have everything ready at the same time, I truly don’t know how he did it. Service from Lucas was brilliant and prices were really reasonable

Lovely place. Lovely food, great staff and atmosphere and reasonably priced. Also, great portions too (we had a group of 4 eating Sunday lunch)

We called last night as the photos on social media looked amazing. It did not disappoint!

The pulled pork was absolutely incredible and homemade chips were delicious!

You can get gluten free options here, which is music to my ears as my Dad is a coeliac and it’s nice to see a restaurant offer decent GF options.

Lucas looked after us and he was lovely. The food was delicious, we will be back.

Just returned from the Black Swan having had a truly amazing 3 course meal and drinks with my wife.
It is a long time since we gave been out so expectations were high.
I am happy to say these were surpassed.
We had garlic mushrooms, chicken strips, followed by ribeye steaks and finally cheesecake.
The staff were very attentive and customer focused and have worked hard which is clear to see having been open a few weeks in the upstairs restaurant where we sat.
We would like to thank Georgie the waitress, Harvey the chef and the Restaurant Manager whose name I forgot to ask.

I came here for an evening meal on a Monday night & left feeling very happy.
The service from Lucas was both friendly & professional & the food was amazing!
My wife had the pulled pork burger & I had the pie.

Our visit to The Black Swan in Ashover with a group of 8 was a pleasant surprise. The starters were flavorful and generously portioned, while the main courses, particularly the vegetarian options, were delicious. The restaurant, under new ownership, is clearly making strides. The manager was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, adding to the positive experience. Overall, a solid choice for a satisfying meal in a welcoming atmosphere

Dog friendly and great food. Vegan and dairy free meals, good choice. What's not to like. 🤔 Great function room looking forward to Trisha's ( medium) visit soon.

New menu with a good choice from sandwiches to pizza to steak pie.

Great village pub, lovely pint of Bass, food looked fab I'm sorry I didn't eat there now - but I'll be back to fix that. Staff were friendly and helpful too!

Haven't been here for a while and i think it must have changed ownership. We had the fish, chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Simple food but cooked to perfection. The fish was soft and flaky whilst the batter was light and crispy. Curry full of flavour and the tartare sauce had bite and texture. Gorgeous chips. Really good beer to top it off. Definitely will return soon. Ps, loved the Bee Box App which let's you select your own playlist to choose a few of your favourite tracks which is a brilliant idea to personalise your pub visit (Scooter/Abba/ACDC whatever) 😀. Just what Ashover needed ❤
