The Old Station

I'd just like to thank the young man (very slim, dark hair, late teens) who served me a takeaway tea and cake right at closing time when all the staff were clearing up. I'd just walked the Newtown to Welshpool canal path and I was so thankful for it.

Decided to give this place a go after finding it on Google maps and the reviews seemed decent. It has free parking for customers. It’s got several different shop areas with gifts, clothing, homewares, craft etc. a lovely large cafe is housed upstairs, the service was very good and the food was good also. After buying a few things we were able to leave the car and take a walk into nearby Welshpool for a browse before returning to try out the cafe. A charming old building where the platform /line that was is now part of the bypass. Nice staff throughout. Very much worth stopping off at.

Cannot visit Welshpool without calling in The Old Station. It is an amazing place that has 2 floors of shops and also has a wonderful Cafe. It is a great 'stop Off Point'. Staff are very friendly obliging and all facilities are first class. Yes I cannot wait for a return visit. Don't miss out on this location.

My favourite local shopping outlet. Plenty of clothing items and some furnishings. Good prices but mainly for the older population. Nice cafe for snacks breakfast and lunches.

I always stop off here when going to visit my family near Aberystwyth. The shop offers a wide range of clothes, shoes, bedding and all things for you and your home. The toilets are always clean and tidy. The café provides a good selection of meals and snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. Five of us had lunch and drinks on Monday and had a lovely time and meal. Friendly staff who are very helpful. I will be going back again in a couple of months as it is well worth the hour or so drive to take other family members to visit. Thank you for a great experience. 🥰

Lovely old building with a well stocked shop and great value cafe (ideal for a bit of breakfast or a cuppa). Staff were also super friendly and helpful too.

Great place to stop and have a snack or light meal. Food tasty and ready very quickly. Good selection on the menu to please most appetites.
Nice selection of cakes to have as afters or with tea and coffee as a snack.
Staff friendly and helpful, tables cleared and cleaned quickly.
Be sure to take time to visit the shop for clothes, household items, gifts, Christmas bits and pieces and maybe bag a bargain, we always seem to find something to purchase.
This makes a great stop and beats the other local options however get your orders in as food stops at 4pm prompt!

A true gem in town. Lovely restaurant with a very tasty cup of coffee, in a huge mug. The victoria sponge, was a generous portion, and light and fluffy. The shopping experience is just as good. Lovely staff who are polite and helpful.

My family has visited this shop on every trip to Welshpool as long as I can remember. I love this shop and it's definitely one you don't want to miss if you're in the area. At the register they have the world's smallest bottle of whiskey. It's a great buy and a fun souvenir.

Easy parking and access makes this a popular pit stop for many the cafe up in loft has lift if needed, good simple food, ground floor has what feels like acres of clothes more aimed at an older generation, but the gift selections were useful grt staff make it a stress free shopping experience

Called in for coffee, meeting a friend. Could not resist a look around again. Of course spent money!
Perfect place to take my mum as there is a lift to the coffee shop. She also spent lots of money, she loved it. Plenty of parking and all accessible for her.

Fantastic stop over place for a break or more

Amazing, a beautiful old railway station converted to a retail shop. Many famous names of clothing, something for everyone. Could have spent hours, and only had 15 minutes before it closed!

A real mix of craft shops, clothes shops and gift shops the cafe is accessible by stairs and a lift the food was very nice and not overly expensive. Lovely location and easy to get in and out of
