The Crown Hotel

Every single member of the team at The Crown Blandford have gone out of their way to accommodate our large family group. The food has been exceptional as are the rooms which are beautiful and spotless. The food at every meal has been amazing. At dinner, every single plate for our large group came out at the same time and was piping hot and delicious. We were well looked after and checked in on regularly. The welcome is warm and friendly and every part of our requests were accommodated including providing an accessible room for a family member needing a lift and a room with support. Reception did a great job of coordinating our group and helping with all of our requests. The bar staff also did really well to help us as we ordered drinks throughout the day. Thank you so much to everyone at The Crown ! We are very grateful and can’t wait to bring our family group back to see you !

This hotel is such a fabulous hotel, great location, good sized room/bathroom, great sized bed & soft fluffy towels. To add to this, the food was delicious, fantastic service and staff are friendly, helpful and all with a smile.
We stayed Friday night and had an early engagement, Christine made sure our dinner was on time and made sure we had everything before finishing her shift. Honestly, what a lovely lady. She was just as helpful and cheerful the next morning.
The lamb dinner in the evening was absolutely delicious 😋 The complimentary glass of Prosecco and half a beer was a fabulous touch… not advertised enough. Luckily we found a voucher in the room. And the choice of breakfast was amazing. We had smashed avo on toasted sourdough, seasoned with a hint of lemon, pesto leaves, chilly flakes and a perfect poached egg on the side… all done to perfection… well done to whoever made that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And for once the tea in the teapot was actually boiling, so I had a hot cup of tea with my breakfast… again perfect!

One small thing… a little more light in the bathroom or in the bedroom with a good mirror for us older ladies would be helpful!

Had lunch at crown hotel Blandford today with a few of my family. Enjoyed the most delicious fish and chips , sat in their lovely garden area.
We were served by Christine the most pleasant friendly lady I have ever met ,
It adds to the pleasure when staff are so willing to go the extra mile ensuring customer satisfaction.

We came here as a guest for a wedding and stayed one night and we can honestly say this has been the best experience. The venue was perfect and the hotel was beautiful and well decorated. The staff were extremely welcoming especially Vincent who was amazing, mingling with the guests and truly helping make the venue.

Had my wedding at this venue and I CANNOT recommend enough!

Supportive, easy, beautiful.... amazing staff all around and 1000000% made an unforgettable experience! Food was excellent as well!

Cannot fault this hotel. Lovely beer garden. Good beer selection. Tasty evening meal and breakfast. Rooms modern clean. Staff so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a night or 2 in this part of the West Country

Didn't stay, only ate. The steak was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best that I've ever eaten, and for a good price. Well seasoned and perfectly grilled, chef did a great job.

Brilliant stay for our wedding anniversary and Crown Fest. Room 6 was spectacular, photos don't do it any justice, the bed was amazing, as was the copper bath, staff worked their socks off as well... 5 stars all round. Looking forward to next year!

We had an impromptu Sunday dinner last week and the food, service and environment was excellent. We hadn't booked but the staff kindly showed us to some free tables in the bar area. A lovely room with plenty of light and nicely spaced out. The food was excellent and the whole family enjoyed their meals. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming throughout. Easy to give 5 stars for this one - well recommended!

Lovely building, great room, warm/welcoming and accommodating staff plus excellent food. A proper class act - we'll certainly be back.

Great place to stay in Blandford ... very central. Dog friendly, walks close by down by river. Lively bar and restaurant with good choice of food. Good for us in evening as vegans, breakfast good option, but less choice. Recommended. Thx

Absolutely amazing. Thank you to the chef that cooked steak for my son (it's the only thing he wants on the menu because The Crown cooks the best steak, in his words)Also, the booth means my son who has sensory overload can enjoy a meal with me and actually agrees to eat out! The booth is a life saver!

This is a nice hotel conveniently situated in Blandford.

The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

There is parking on site, you register with reception.

The food is excellent and the selection of beers very good. There is a good selection at breakfast which offers continental and cooked food.

We walked in as a group of 2 adults and 3 small children. We were welcomed with humour and fun. Teddies were given a hi chair and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was good too!!

This is a halfway point to where a friend and I live. We booked a meal for around 4.30pm and had the most amazing experience. Private parking (although the spaces are quite tight, presumably to get as many spaces in as possible). But we were lucky to get spaces. There is another very large carpark a minute walk away.

We were greeted by the lovely Chris and taken to a simply gorgeous dining room where my friend and I were full of ‘WOWS’! Chris was very attentive and took our order and made sure we were looked after.

The food was absolutely amazing and you could tell the chef used high quality ingredients. Delicious!

We were also looked after by Vince - OMG we loved Vince. He was incredibly knowledgeable and told us the history of the building, about the restaurant etc. He was simply fabulous.

After our meal we went through to another area behind the bar where there were comfy chairs and a lovely warm atmosphere. The decor is simply stunning. Attention to detail to make our visit a memorable one!

We will definitely be back (but only if Vince is on duty!! And of course the lovely Chris!).

We held my daughter’s 50th birthday here and not only was the Sunday meal excellent but also the superb service from Christine who made this event extra special. This is a great restaurant in a lovely setting

Tastes so good and a very large potion.
That was so good.
Smells good as well. My friends had soups and pies those were good too.

Wow, this place is such a gem. We only visited for a meal and drinks but we had such a fantastic time.
The restaurant is set in a stunning room with skylight and beautiful tall ceiling and historic feel.
The staff couldn't do enough for us. They were just so attentive and helpful. The manager had a lovely chat with us and the staff were all smiling, friendly and helpful. Can't say enough great things.
The fish and chips has the wow factor. The fish cooked perfectly and so white. Make sure you're hungry, superb portion

This review is based on my experience on Thursday 14/03. The staff I encountered were all polite, cheerful and welcoming, the ambience was comfortable and the marquee and entrance were cleverly designed ( all white meant that the passage of time was less perceptible as it gave the impression of still being light outside .)
The service was attentive and courteous and I mainly decided to enter this review to draw attention to the excellent organisation and management of the front of house team by the lady I believe is called Sophie (?) striking red and black hair... She coordinated her team extremely well especially considering a few of them were obviously relatively inexperienced.. The brigade back of house were also obviously well coordinated and professional and did a sterling job.
One addendum with Sophie, she became aware that two people were having to fold all the raffle tickets so personally collected their desserts and took them to where they were undertaking this. Nice awareness and very thoughtful !!!

Apropos meal selection I had the falafel and beetroot starter, the hake main and the lemon posset. I'm writing this because the next page demands choices which are inapplicable so I'm going to select the nearest.

Lovely food and service. Atmospheric room with log fires and helpful staff. Managed to find a parking space and great location.
