Amazing food. Good prices, amazing service. Will definitely be back when in the area. Fisherman's pie was absolutely amazing, The steak had some serious flavour, obviously finger licking. Steak Guinness pie, pizzas , starters everything so tasty and good portions as well. Lovely decor and even better garden by the river. Highly recommended!

Discovered this place recently. Will definitely go again. The place itself has a very nice atmosphere, and the food was excellent. Staff friendly and prices reasonable.

Within less than 5 minutes walk of the train station, which in itself is only around 5 minutes train from Ashford International. However note that return trains are not frequent, we went on a Sunday and I believe return trains were hourly in the afternoon.

Lovely homely atmosphere as soon as we entered the pub. We were welcomed with a warm greeting by the manager and all staff who served us were friendly! We enjoyed sharing the halloumi fries for a starter and our mains were the The Hot Bird pizza & the lemon chicken linguine, both were delicious 😋

Lovely place to get some food, kids meal although was more than some places all looked fresh and nicely cooked.
Cod special was delicious and the apple crumble with the home made ice cream was delicious.
In the summer the beer garden would be lovely.
The lights hanging from the ceiling are a nice feature.
It feels like a cosy pub and the server was very polite and helpful and the food came out in good timing and was very tasty.
If I was local this would be a go to treat dinner out!

Excellent lunch at The Tickled Trout today. Couldn't fault anything. And that was, without a doubt, the best fish pie I have ever eaten. Absolutely delicious!

Popped in on a Sunday on the off chance of a table. They had a spot that was available but only for 1.5 hours which was fine with us. We were served quickly but not rushed. Food was good and well presented. I can see why it is always busy when we drive past. I would come back again. Next time I would go with the great looking Sunday roast.

Booked a table at The Tickled Trout to treat a friend to lunch. She had recommended as she dines there with friends and family regularly. We both opted for the chicken shish kebab which was accompanied by chips, salad and pitta. It was very tasty. Service was very good too. Its a beautiful pub inside and the pub garden is adjacent to the river. Will definitely visit again. All the tables were reserved so booking is a must if you are dining.

I can't express my gratitude to the staff. It was pouring down with rain and they kindly opened the door for me, even though I was early. They even offered me a coffee and a cupcake. It was so wonderful to be reminded that kindness still exists among strangers. It's also a beautiful pub. Highly recommended.

Beautiful setting by the river and ideal for families. Indoor or outdoor setting and a lot of staff so no real waiting around trying to get served. The food was excellent and really enjoyed the steak. The homemade ice cream is an absolute must.

Very much improved from my last visit 18 months ago. Well organised staff, food was excellent and a good selection of drinks. I would recommend if you are looking for a good place to visit this summer. Parking is limited so get there early!

Quiet even when full mid-afternoon on a spring Sunday. We'd walked up from Canterbury & had arrived too late (3pm) for the café so waddled along to the Tickled Trout (or Fondled Fish as we knew it in my teens) to see what, if anything, they could do for us. Even at that point they were very busy but found a corner & produced a pair of lovely roasts. Service was efficient & friendly but never pushy. Main course & pud both lovely (weird interpretation of banoffee for me, very good, recommended.)
We probably eat there once per year, usually on a Sunday, & it's consistently good.

Unexpected visit on a Monday. Hadn't book a table, were willing to accommodate. Fish was suberb. Guinness was perfect. Service was good (poor girl was on her own).
Good view of the Great Stour, too.

Really nice country pub, gets busy so if you are hoping to eat then it's best to book a table. Food very good.

It was definitely beyond my expectations. We went a weekday lunchtime and were probably going to settle for the usual pub grub. But hey, the Fish Pie turned all my senses upside down even as we barely entered. We were told it was new and must try. Glad we took the waitress on her recommendation. It was a maincourse for one but the bowl like platter was so huge that we could not finish it.
We usually order in a pick and mix style when we eat out and this time we only ordered two starters and the fish pie as mains. It turned out that the starters were almost as big a portion as the main. We loved both the mushroom starter, and the really big kingprawns cooked beautifully in a salsa like sauce.
If you like to sit around the fire thats in front of the bar in the middle, you should book ahead.

Had a family meal on Friday evening with our children. What a truly great pub and dining experience. Amazing and inventive menu, beautifully prepared. Great service - we’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area again!

The Tickled Trout is an absolutely excellent pub. The location is outstanding , probably one of the prettiest pubs and gardens you are ever likely to find located right next to a river in the delightful village of Wye. The local ale that I had was superb as were our meals. The staff who served us at the bar were very welcoming too and were attentive, polite and helpful. You'd be hard pressed to find anywhere better. Outstanding.

We got the train to the tickled trout in wye last Sunday as a celebratory lunch for my new job which started on Monday. What a lovely pub in a beautiful location. Honestly best pub Sunday lunch had out in a very long time. We had Roast Lamb and it was delicious. Will definitely return to try more food.
