Good post office, nice staff, very helpful. Can be big queues at times.

Staff are alright, not had a problem here in over 3 years

I queue most days and I accept the longer waits that have been caused by the lockdown; what I struggle to understand is why a relief staff member is not being employed by Post Office or One stop to monitor the queue outside the door . If one counter staff member has to do this it slows down the flow through. My average wait at the moment is about 40 minutes. One Stop benefits from the rent and extra footfall that the post office provides and could easily employ extra relief staff. I would suggest that the Post Office negotiates with one stop to alleviate this problem. Ludlow is a rural area and this service covers a wide area as other sub post offices have been closed down, putting extra pressure on the counter staff in Ludlow, who are struggling to cope with the extra workload and frustrated customers taking it out on them. These staff are amazing and work really hard to meet our needs and they deserve to be helped in this exceptional situation.
This is a specific request not a general 'moan' about queueing.

What a joke this post office is, I’m sick to death of coming here to find it closed ,yet again !!!!!!,,,,,, POST OFFICE, GET RID OF THIS POSTMASTER, needed to send a letter first classs this morning, this is the only post office in central ludlow. This has really caused me a problem now, Also , one old lady serving at the till in the shop !!!! Great big line of people waiting to pay for there shopping ,,,,BLOOMING JOKE, who is the owner of this shop?????? I suggest you sell it and let someone run it who knows what there doing .

On Saturday, 18th November I arrived at the One Stop Shop with items for Australia, only to find the Post Office counter was closed all that day. Tried East Hamlet but the counter there was closed too. 🎵Do they know it's Christmastime at all?🎵

In the past six months I have tried three times to use this post office, during advertised opening hours. Each time it has been closed. Each time the website says that it is open.

We have today posted numerous parcels in Wem North Shropshire . Opening times 8.00 am to 8.00pm Mon to Saturday and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Sunday. Two staff members minimum waiting time. Wem average population 6.5k Ludlow 10k.
Ludlow Tower Street PO - totally unpredictable service, no set opening times, usually just one server, long queue/waiting times, opening times left to the whim of individuals.
Who is responsible for the running of this service?
An action plan needs to be implemented and made public and individuals held responsible for its implementation.
This extremely poor service has been going on for years and is not getting any better!
Staff are under extreme pressure and unhappy. Customers understandably exasperated.
Ludlow needs a working post office to serve its community.

This counter service has been closed more often than open whenever I try to use it.
Although I am a Ludlow resident I now go in my car to the friendly, reliable PO counter in Orleton instead.

Looked up opening times but closed. Never enough staff. No way of contacting head office. ‘You may find an answer to your question on our website’ - er - no.
Feel sorry for the staff who are lovely and none of this is their fault.

Visited Saturday 23 Sept 2023, came down town early to post 2 parcels, as website said closes 12:30,
Found it closed, no reason given, now got to wait till Tuesday. Hope it will be open then.

Need to collect a parcel and can only attend on a weekend due to work. Not open! How can I collect my parcel now?!

Please just shut down already. What's the point in giving people false hope? Whenever I go to Ludlow post office there is a huge queue and only one person at a window, despite there being three windows (I feel so sorry for that one person having to deal with everyone and this review is no reflection on them...)
For a town of this size you need to have a reliable post office and not keep people waiting for 30 minutes whenever they want to post a parcel. Furthermore, what's with these new opening times? Shut for lunch? Come on!! That's the only time most working people have to visit the place. & 3pm close?! Absolutely ridiculous.

Worst post office ever!! Never open!!!! Someone needs to be held responsible for this poor excuse of post office 😡

Arrived today to post a parcel at 14.50 on a weekday. Very long line of people waiting to be served and a 15.00 closing time, a single window open... you know how this ends.
Please please please just get more staff in and adjust your opening times to align with the rest of the working world (9-5). Thanks.

I had a parcel to post and as unbelievably no post offices in Ludlow were open on a Saturday I had to post today. I can only say I've never waited 45 minutes to be served at a post office before. One person serving and massive queues in front and behind. At last another member of staff came to serve and the current member left!!!! Back to one member off staff! Luckily for me 2 people in front got fed up waiting and left. What kind of service, Ha, Ha, are you providing in a busy market town like Ludlow. Get the opening times right on your websites and put more staff in during busy lunchtime periods.
I usually use the post office in Dorrington on my way to work, excellent service, staff and no queues.

Be honest about opening hours and communicate them better to the public, please!

Very poor service. Not the staff's fault most of the time as they can only go as quick as they can. But surely somebody above them needs to understand that this post office is the only Post Office in the centre of Ludlow and it has a rather large queue almost every time. There definitely needs to be way more than just one member of staff serving over 10 people waiting. Really really poor

Closed on Saturdays. Disappointing as this is my only day to sort out bills etc. Rubbish

Poor customer service. Incorrect opening times published. Bad queue management. I get the feeling they're having a lot of customer problems so I'm not sure why they don't help themselves by publishing the correct opening hours and managing the queue better. It's not difficult - use more signage, more communication and be more helpful to your customers. They don't seem to care. The guy at One Stop Gravel Hill was very friendly and helpful though - go there - the experience is much better!
