My son and I treated ourselves to afternoon tea. The tearoom is upstairs above the delightful shop selling home goods, kitchenware and fancy goods. The tearoom has an antique feel to it with a couple of huge glass display cabinets with antique tableware, dishes and even an old style cash register. The afternoon tea itself was freshly prepared and delicious. We actually got a 3 tier stand each. There were 6 sandwich triangles generously filled with ham, beef, and cream cheese and cucumber. There was a choice of Scone, we had Raspberry with butter, jam and cream. A full size slice of a cake of choice and a fresh cream meringue. All baked goods are made on the premises, absolutely delicious. £17-50p each. The staff were lovely. You don't have to book, but we prefer to. As it's up a flight of stairs it isn't wheelchair friendly, or for people with limited mobility. We would definitely go again if we're ever in the area again.

A lovely traditional Tea Room. This has a great choice of menu with mainly cakes and sandwiches. We really enjoyed the scones.
You order at the bar and take It to your table if it is on the counter. If it is prepared fresh they bring It to your table.
Fabulous

The cosy Victorian Tea Room serving delicious food and drinks, sits above a traditional shop selling beautiful, carefully chosen homeware. A perfect place to visit.

Really impressed with the high quality sausages and bacon in the bap. Lots of other places use cheaper products. Well done. Lovely to see the old pictures of Buxton on the walls and even Prince Charles. 🤴

As we both enjoyed lovely homemade cake and a cold drink went back next day and had toasted sandwiches which were very nice. Staff friendly and most helpful when checking ingredients due to an allergy. Situated above a lovely kitchenware shop.

Good old fashioned tearoom. Lovely!!
Tea by the pot, lots of mirrors and polite service. Definitely the best place we could find for afternoon tea in fine old Buxton

This is a nice little cafe above a gift shop of the same name, all the cakes are baked in house and you get a good portion at a reasonable price, a decent menu is available too for breakfastor lunch. It's worth a visit.

Whilst visiting Buxton on a cold afternoon we wanted to find a nice little tea room and what a place we found. We were looking in the window to see if there were any room for my wife and our little dog. We couldn't see any free tables so walked on. A lovely lady rushed out having seen us looking in the window and said they had a table if we would like to come in ? What a nice touch in a quirky, welcoming tea room knocks spots off any starbucks !!!

Food was delicious, staff were friendly and proficient. Lots of history on show about the family who have been proprietors of the business since 1800s. The cafe is still run by the family, and the great, great grandson of the original proprietor was serving in the cafe today

An amazing tea room above a most delightful Cookshop/Giftshop.
A variety of teas/coffees are available and the menu caters for all dietary requirements including complicated intolerances 👌
This is a family business steeped in history with excellent displays of memorabilia of a bygone age.
Well worth a visit for so many reasons 😊
Highly recommend!

I love this cafe. It has perfect decor, oak panelled with a mini history of the shop and ceramics. Lovely good food. A treasure to be preserved. ❤

Never eaten a bad meal in this cafe, everything on the menu is good.
Stairs from ground floor shop to cafe will not suit all visitors.

Had a lovely day out in Buxton, finished off with a lovely meal here, it was very full so I expect it is very popular with the locals. Will definitely go there again on our next trip.
