Caban Coch Dam is one of a sequence of dams on the Elan River and is absolutely stunning, both in structure and surrounding natural beauty. The perfect location for long walks with the dogs, family etc. it does get quite busy at peak times but if you hit the trails you can find some real tranquility. Free parking at the top. Only gripe is lack of bins!

Great place to walk around. Shame tours are held only at a certain time of the year .

The pictures speak for themselves, free capark, plenty of trails to walk and if visited mid week you can practically have the place to yourself.

The most AMAZING dam I personally have ever seen. Truly a force, very windy at times and prepare to get a bit wet. Great parking in the visitors center to view it from the bottom or also at the top. Amazing views.

Incredibly beautiful area. Nature is impressive. The walk was great. Unfortunately, we did not get there when the dam is fully operational. But this is a reason to go there again.

Worth exploring the whole area extremely pretty, went there for the meteor shower but unfortunately was a little bit cloudy.

If you can go on a clear light on a new moon - the sky view unbelievably spectacular.

You can get up close and feel the power of the Dam. Lovely environment, with an educational area, shop and restaurant.

Amazing views, in all weathers. Superb man-made structure, used to tame the forces of nature. Lovely walks/cycle tracks, surrounded by rugged terrain and hillsides for the more adventurous. Free parking and a visitors centre, popular destination for those seeking fresh air and some exercise. Although can be enjoyed by the less able too.

What a gorgeous place . I had a sunny day, walked from Caban Coch to Pen y Grag dam. 6.5km there and 6.5km back. Straight forward walk , flat ground. Well worth a day out. Parking 3 pounds for the day , u can drive to the dams as well if you dont want to walk

Fabulous place to visit any time of the year but even more spectacular when water is flowing over the dam. Lovely area that is well worth exploring with fantastic views of the local mountains and wildlife.

A really stunning place to visit during the autumn when the leaves have varying shades of green and gold. The cascading water over the dam and getting close and personal creates a sight to behold looking like a waterfall. There is a cafe nearby to enjoy the view. It has a capacity of 8 billion gallons.

Beautiful place that is really quiet. It is perfect for a roadtrip stop off and it is a picturesque place. There is a car park that you can stop for a picnic or a cup of tea and it’s quite quiet, we rarely even saw a car come past! It is a good place to add onto your roadtrip map as it is stunning and quiet!
