I came here Saturday night this week quite late on with my young son. The lovely girl working there heard someone swear, told them not to swear in front of children and apologised on their behalf. Such a rarity these days for someone to acknowledge such a thing, it was much appreciated. Apart from that she and the young boy behind the desk went out of their way to help us and were super friendly and attentive. To top it all off the food was out of this world! My (fussy) lad ate 4 sausages and said they were the best ever! Amazing food, amazing location, amazing staff. Thank you so much. Definitely recommended.

Having tried both fish and chip restaurants in Wells over consecutive days, Plattens received our 'Best in Wells' award! We had generous, piping-hot, freshly-cooked servings of cod wrapped in wonderfully crisp batter with well-cooked chips and above average curry sauce. Great food, served on plates not paper trays, proper cutlery not wood. Excellent!

After our awful experience in Cromer we had a fabulous lunch at Plattens. Mini fish and chips and curry sauce. Beautifully cooked white fish and chips. Great service and a lovely place to eat. Dog friendly too.

Having been a reliable customer in French’s for many years, I came to Wells to see that Plattens had had a make over since I last visited.

So I gave it a try one Wednesday evening. I found the screens to be a great way to place your order and the service was very quick (it was a wet Wednesday evening). I ordered 2 x cod and chips and an extra half potion of chips. This served 3 adults but if you had a big appetite you would want your own portion of both.

I couldn’t find fault with the food, lovely chips, cooked well and not dry. Fish was juicy and batter not greasy. Stokes sauces in abundance. Staff were friendly.

I think I am a convert to Plattens and would certainly visit again.

Friendly welcome on arrival. Ordered Fish and chips which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely return and highly recommend.
Its location is spot on and a must visit after a long walk to the beach.

Took our very old dog in first thing the lady asked us did we want water for dog and was he ok.my husband said the plaice was excellent, my scampi was also very good. Pot of tea after and was a very good atmosphere. Well done to you all.

Lovely fresh cooked fish and chips.This is a dig friendly restaurant which is kept spotless. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the view from upstairs is fantastic 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very good, food was great and not expensive, view out over wells harbour is amazing even on a February raining evening and the service is brilliant.

I'm going to be honest, when looking at some of the recent reviews we were initally put off, but as the queue was smaller here than the other fish & chip shop we decided it was worth the gamble.

It's super easy to order from the screen and the queue moved relatively quickly (it was prime time on a Saturday for dinner).

We ordered 3x fish and chips and one person had a battered sausage and a fishcake. And actually we couldn't fault any of the food. The fish was cooked well and so were the chips. The only thing I'd say is the size of the three fishes varied quite significantly but no one seemed to grumble about it.

Lovely restaurant, really friendly hostess made us and our dogs feel very welcome, delicious food with huge portions, definitely recommend

I stayed in one of the beautiful apartments, 3/3/23 for 3 nights. The apartment was modern, clean, and has the most beautiful views.
Whilst we were there, we visited Plattens Fish and Chips and ate in the restaurant. I had a vegetarian battered sausage and chips and my husband had cod and chips. The food was delicious and of a good quality. The service we received was also excellent.
I have seen comments about the prices of fish and chips on a couple of reviews but I personally felt our meal was good value for money. I have visited many cafes, garden centres, restaurants etc for lunches which have been priced the same, prices have unfortunately increased everywhere due to the current cost of living. The food was very enjoyable and I will definitely return :)

What a fantastic fish & chips restaurant/takeaway. The fish was cooked to perfection wrapped in a light crispy batter with proper chippy chips and a pot of curry sauce for dipping.

Absolutely delightful and I was gutted when I’d finished as I could have happily ate more and more and more…. You get the idea.

If you’re ever in Wells On Sea, you need to visit Platten’s if fish & chips is your thing.

Went for a day out at the beach with my partner and 14 month old daughter. My daughter has a few allergies, one of which is quite tricky. I phoned beforehand and spoke to a lady on the phone who was very lovely and accommodating and my daughter managed to safely have her first fish and chips. Can’t thank them enough for going out of their way to make it possible and the service was amazing, will definitely come back again.

A really great fish and chips in a lovely clean building right on the harbour. The staff were so helpful and it is dog friendly as well. We will be going back. One staff member in particular was absolutely superb at making us feel most welcome. Good and clean toilets upstairs.

We really fancied fish & chips whilst in wells today whilst out walking with our dog. I thought it would be chips on the key, “brave the cold!”
But I was pleasantly surprised to see Plattens restaurant that also allows dogs, so went in and gave it a go.
They need to sort the tables out to accommodate people better and they in return will get more foot fall through the door, but other than that it was lovely.

Amazing food. Excellent customer service. Reasonable prices. Good portions. Good range of food and beverages. Take away option downstairs. Recommend their haddock and chips. Tastes great. Definitely recommend and will go again.

Absolutely delicious food here, and always a bonus when you can sit inside and eat your food with a knife and fork, great view of the harbour from upstairs, and best cup of tea that I had all day. Only downfall.............£40 for two lots of cod and chips with curry sauce !, WOW !, but still would recommend going if you don't mind splashing out on great food, because I certainly don't mind

We eat in the restaurant, where the service was friendly, the portions very generous and each of the three fish, haddock, plaice and cod were moist and tender inside their batter.

Really good service with lovely friendly staff. Drinks were served swiftly with just a short wait for the food, considering how busy the place was. The food was absolutely delicious. First class, thank you.
