Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve is a delight.
It was four years ago, during the morning, that we first visited the reserve. We anticipated staying for around ninety minutes, but stayed until early afternoon.
During the morning, when the reserve opens, is the best time to see birds feeding.
On this occasion we visited at 1 pm, and we still saw a variety of birds, but not much on the water.
There are about six hides taking in different views of woodland, ponds, scrapes and lakes.
Our favourite hide is the Tower Visitor hide, the ramp of which takes you up into the trees. The photo's I have shown, apart from the pheasant, were taken from that hide using a travel camera set at intelligent auto.
The wooden walkways, hides and paths can easily be negotiated on foot and by mobility chairs and scooters. There are numerous seating areas along the route.
A toilet for everyone is available.

Wow, what a beautiful reserve. Saw many bullfinches, muntjac deer, buzzards and other little birds. Great access / parking. Beautiful hides with good outlooks. Staff so friendly. Really wanted to go back, was disappointed we didn’t have enough time to visit again.

This is a great place for a nice little board walk. It’s beautiful in winter and we will visit again in spring. Great hot chocolate for a lovely frosty morning ☕

A well managed reserve with excellent wheelchair facilities. The broadwalk across the entire site makes the reserve very accessible, even in the winter months. The tower hide is particularly impressive with a feeding table just outside the window, which is ideal for children wanting close-up views of the birds.

Great place to walk and watch birds and other wildlife. It has boardwalk paths so is very even and easy to navigate round. I am partially sighted and found it was the perfect set up for me. There are feeders at each of the hides so you get close to the birds.

A very enjoyable visit, the reserve has lots of board walks, taking you through various habitats, with plenty of good quality hides where you can view a variety of wildlife.
I enjoyed my visit so much that I became a member, and can now visit as many times as I like!

Lots of work in progress, but still worth visiting. Wheel chair accessible. Quite and full of wildlife. Great hides for spotting, keeping you warm and dry.

In my opinion it's the best nature reserve in Britain. Accessibility is great even for wheelchair users. And the birds are easy to observe because of the many feeders situated around the place.

What a great walk, much longer than expected and was a joy to see all of the birds even on a drizzly day. Everything is very well kept and maintained. We spent 4 hours there having a nice amble.

Great place to visit if you are into Wildlife, as well as Red Kite, Barn Owl, Kestrels, etc there are Otters, King Fishers and so much more to look out for. Well worth every penny whether you are visiting for one day or have taken out an annual membership it is money well spent.

Lovely reserve for bird and wildlife lovers. Very accessible even for manual wheelchairs via mostly boardwalk trails. Lots of information given on entry (suggested donation for entrance for adult entry). Very well maintained. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic place to see a lot of different birds both wading birds and small Woodland birds, we saw a tree creeper for the first time. Also it is ideal for wheelchairs etc as most of it is board walk, they have a toilet and visitors centre but no cafe, so take your own food and drink. There is a £7 charge.

Fantastic place for a spot of watching our feathered friends. Fully accessible for wheelchair users and prams. Plenty of benches for sitting and watching. Bird feeders everywhere and constantly in use. Great opportunity to see birds close up. Hides are big enough to accommodate several people. Volounteers are all very friendly as well as knowledgeable and keen to advise on the best places to see which bird. Wish we lived closer would love to be a more regular visitor.
