The Duck, Stanhoe

Stopped here for lunch with my other half. We ordered two of the sandwich options with chips.

The crab sandwich was delicious and reasonably priced. Both brown and white crab meat so it actually tasted of something! There was a hint of Parmesan which made it extra tasty.

The duck club sandwich was also delicious. A double layer sandwich, like a traditional club, filled with avocado, bacon and prawns in mayonnaise. Toasted too which was a nice twist!

Both sandwiches came with homemade crisps but we ordered the triple cooked chips to share. These were tasty and a great addition.

Service was attentive and could not be faulted.

We had a fabulous meal that could not be faulted. The scallops to start with were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Main course of wild bass was excellent and the peanut butter parfait was utterly divine. The service was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. A definite five stars.

Celebrating my birthday, we decided to venture out and booked a table at The Duck Inn Stanhoe during our trip to Norfolk. What an incredible choice it was! The ambiance of the place set the perfect tone for an evening of celebration. For my meal, I chose the Confit duck leg, and it was nothing short of spectacular – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My husband opted for the Halibut, which he described as equally delicious, with every bite bursting with freshness and expertly prepared.

But the culinary delights didn't stop at the main courses; the cocktails were a highlight of the evening. We both had the vodka martini, and it was mixed to perfection – the right balance of vodka and the delicate vermouth, served ice-cold. It was, without doubt, the best way to toast to another year.

The service at The Duck Inn was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff ensuring our evening was special and memorable. Everything from the warm welcome to the attentive service throughout our meal made us feel truly valued and well cared for.

I highly recommend The Duck Inn Stanhoe to anyone visiting Norfolk or celebrating a special occasion. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are exceptional, making it a must-visit destination. We will certainly be returning!

An absolutely awesome place. I had the halibut for main and the wife had Sunday lunch with both dishes being amazing!
Staff were attentive and very friendly although service did slow down as it got busier, wouldn't put us off visiting again though. Will definitely plan to visit again!

Didn't stay, randomly picked it on map for lunch on a road trip round Norfolk. Was worried it was not open on a latish Friday lunch arrival. It was. Great welcome, great staff, fantastic, interesting, fun, satisfying food. Best lunch so far this year and I lunch we'll 😊

We had a great meal today. The taste and presentation and service were all excellent. They also make their own flavoured gins, rums & vodkas. The toasted coconut flavour vodka was to die for.

Chose the Duck for our sons 18th birthday celebration & it did not disappoint! The food & the service was absolutely spot on👌Rachel & the team couldn’t have been more helpful both when booking & on the day! We’ll defiantly be back. Thanku so much for the amazing food & service. X

I had the lovely burger which was one of the best I have ever had. They also make their own blended rums, gins and vodkas which were a refreshing change to having wine with the meal. Especially the toasted coconut vodka.

What a brilliant place. Recently been taken over we were sceptical, however it was better than before. Sunday lunch roast beef was generous but the choice of vegetables was amazing for a vegetable lover, so much choice and flavour. My lemon pan a cotta was absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely be back, loved it. Well done chef and new owners 👍

Went for lunch on a Sunday. Booked in advance. We had the monkfish curry and the fish & chips. Both were excellent. Service was efficient and pleasant. Recommended.

We didn’t stay at the Duck Inn, but celebrated our Wedding Anniversary there. The whole experience was wonderful. Everyone in our party of four thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Truly delicious food. I highly recommend the restaurant and I’m sure the same standard would apply to the accommodation.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Definitely recommend. Location was difficult due to heavy rain and flooding when we visited.

Wow, popped in for a main course and the Duck on the menu is by far one of the best dishes I have had. The not so new team have nailed it. Keep it up!

We’re not local, but understand the Duck Inn is under new ownership. We had a beautiful Sunday lunch here today. The setting, service, drinks and food were absolutely fantastic and it was lovely to see the restaurant busy. All the staff were friendly and worked hard.
In addition to the roast dinner, we had desserts of sticky toffee pudding and the best caramel panacotta with salted caramel ice cream and parkin. It didn’t last long enough for the photo…
The Duck Inn is very highly recommended

**A gem of a place for Sunday lunch**
Excellent food, we had Sunday lunch, roast beef to perfection which is very rare these days, excuse the pun! Amazing Yorkshire puddings, now being a Yorkshire man's that's some accolade!! I couldn't eat a pudding but the ones that arrived at our table the chocolate brownies were fantastic.
They have a great selection of beer too.
We're looking forward to our next dinner here.
