In a picturesque little town over saturated with tea rooms we didn’t have overly high expectations as we walked in but Cockburn’s Tea rooms in Arundel is definitely a cut above the rest! Old fashioned and quaint in settings with all the old world charm of an era gone by but the service is far from outdated! The staff were exceptionally service minded and warm and nothing was too much trouble for our lovely waitress. The food (my wife and I both had afternoon tea, one traditional and one with cheese) was absolutely delicious. High quality produce, beautifully served and every morsel was extremely tasty. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend

The most delightful afternoon tea & cake is served here! We each got a pot of tea, which was served in the a large china teapot with enough for 3 cups per person! And the crumpets were hot and delicious. The restaurant decor very tastefully done and extremely comfortable. Quite a find, I would say. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place to have tea and cake. The tea room was very busy but once we sat down, we weren’t made to feel rush to eat and pay.

Lemon drizzled cake was delicious but the latté was only average.

Big selection of cakes and friendly staffs. Highly recommended.

A great way to experience the traditional way of afternoon tea (although you can have breakfast, lunch and more).

Pleasantly impressed with this lovely tearoom. We checked out 3 others before deciding to have lunch here. We both had jacket potato with tuna mayo and coronation chicken which came with plenty of salad. The vegan raspberry and chocolate cake was moist and delicious. There was a great selection of yummy looking cakes including gluten free and vegan options which was great to see. I would love to see if they could bake vegetable based cakes like courgette or beetroot. Heard they bake them freshly on the premises. The loose tea served in cute English teapots and china cups was a lovely way to drink tea. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning and trying the other cakes.

Fiona and I popped in for a light lunch on my birthday and sat on the first table on the left downstairs. This is a fabulous place. It's neat, tidy and comes with a full complement of very friendly and able staff. I had Sussex rarebit and Fiona had quiche all made to order. This great place is very welcoming and they not only allow dogs but they have things on the menu that woofers can order for themselves. We will not be looking to eat anywhere else in future. I thoroughly recommend.

Been many times. Always very enjoyable.
Service can be quite slow on times but it's always friendly.
Portion sizes are very Good and food quality / taste is great.
It can get very busy (to a point where there are no seats) so either book or go outside of key hours (EG lunch time).
It's all very quintessentially English - the decor, the menu, the vibe - all very fitting for what's a quintessentially English town with its looming castle and antique shops. I always imagine this place is exactly what the Americans picture when thinking about England.
Prices are a little on the higher side but I think they're justified.

Great little Tea, cake, quick bite shop. Lots of nice decor which gives this place a lovely experience to relax and enjoy a lovely cuppa of your choice and if your up for it a large slice of cake to compliment everything. The shop front window attractions says it all really.

Another great place for lunch at Arundel. It's located inside one of the older buildings, so the atmosphere is very different, with narrow staircase and low wooden ceilings.
The service was really great, and the lunch was tasty as well. We had soup of the day and quiche. Also took two pieces of cake home with us. Lavender and blueberry cake is especially recommended.

This a fabulous tea room. So quirky & lovely atmosphere. The staff are very good & really friendly. The cakes are delicious, and their cheese scones are the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing coffee, very strong and full of flavor. Wheelchair friendly access and toilet on the ground floor. There is a large step as you walk into the seating area so be careful as a someone fell over while I was even there. Delicious food, lovely waitresses who served us and quick to take our order even with the tea rooms being very busy! Highly recommend if you want a nice afternoon tea in the heart of Arundel.

The Lemon Meringue Pie served warm with ice cream is absolute heaven … and hubby loved his Cherry Bakewell cake . The selection of cakes in this place is undoubtedly the best in Arundel. The service can be a bit slow and the furnishing and decor could be better… but the cake and always friendly staff more than make up for it. Tasty loose tea and good coffee with cream ….excellent

Quaint tea room with wonderful selection. We ordered two cakes, rose congou tea, and an orange hot chocolate. The cakes were perfectly moist and the drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the rose congou tea. Despite the unique flavours available, it wasn't any more expensive than a regular cafe, so for that reason I cannot wait to come again.

Wonderful old tearoom. Real china cups and saucers. The afternoon tea was to die for. They were very accommodating when I was finding it hard to book so do message. Think the booking system needs rethinking. You have to book for afternoon tea but other things you can drop in for. Always pretty busy though
